I would really like to find a place to play and buy magic cards in Bangkok. The list of shops on the magic website (here) is very outdated, and i am wondering if someone here has any more info?

It would be fantastic to find an MTG community here!

Used to be a few shops top of MBK in the internet and games corner.

Also I think at Discovery or Siam Center, but that's been renovated that kind of shop maybe can't afford the higher rents.

But Siam Square itself is very likely, anywhere you get lots of students. . .

It's a strategic and tactical trading card game, culturally similar to RPGs, like maybe you heard of Dungeons and Dragons back in the day?

Nothing to do with magician acts. . .

Thanks for moving it to the appropriate forum. didn't realize i wasn't posting in the right place.

So today i found two shops!

first one is in the metro mall inside the Sukhumvit MRT. It was a tiny little place that as far as i could tell didnt have any other name than 'card shop'

their selection of pre built deck packs was very slim, but they had a fair number of singles. also they had about 8-10 seats to play some games. i will likely be returning here to play some games.

the second shop i found, thanks to the manager at the first place. It's in Esplanade on the 4th floor right next to the ice skating rink (near the MRT station called cultural center)

This shop was huge with something like 30 seats or more, and a great selection of cards and accessories. There is an event there on the 21-23rd of June. you will likely be able to find me there.

all in all it was a success, there seems to be a community for this here in bangkok after all, and i cant wait to get stuck in.

Just yesterday I crawled thorugh Bangkok and bought a bunch of decks - couldnt resist, although I rarely know any players here.

But the place I found is great, it is the Metro Mall and MRT Chatuchak - three or four stores with a great selection of single cards, tournaments etc.

If anyone is up for playing some rounds, please pm me, I would love to get back into that game

I'm a big man in person too. Because I spend time in the gym instead to defeating Elves with my magic card of Ork power

Old player here. I have all my cards here, but have not looked at them or built a deck for 4 years or so.

Been trying to find my old blue/artifact deck and my green/black decks.

Started playing when IceAge came out. After the Urza cycle not much. I loved the Urza Cycle decks.

I used to play heavily in my youth and once or twice again in Thailand, sometimes, on Soi wachiratum-sathit, which is sukhumvit 101/1, about 250 metres up on the left is a 3 or 4 storey "mall" (hardly a mall really). It has a games shop on the second floor facing the road.

They mainly do board games, and some DnD stuff in the back room.

I still have all my old magic cards, I occassionally get them out, shuffle through them, and miss when it was all exciting. I think this article sums it up for me these days (applies even though being about video games)

Having said this I have just sold the farm in pledges to Star Citizen.

I used to play "Magic: The gathering" in my teens, spending money to earn rare card decks and having sleep-over tournaments, but eventually I grew up.
