The Ashes Tour 2013

Recommended Posts

I reckon that England was due to win a Toss.

Opened the Betting account.

Flicked on Ch9 for the Toss ... 8.50 (9.50 EDST) ... still with their morning program ... facepalm.gif

Bat to the Account, 15 secs before closing ... a rushed $3 on Cooke winning the Toss.

Too late ... market closed.

15 mins later Ch 9 show the Toss ... dry.png

A fortune lost again.

Settled for $3 on Australia to win @ $1.70

I wonder how Clarkie will go on his home ground?

How about a parlay bet?

Top scorer first innings England: Cook

Top scorer 1st innings AUstralia: Warner

Australia to win

Well that one is down the gurgler...giggle.gif

BookMan, what were you thinking picking Warner in the first innings?

He's a 2nd innings specialistwink.png

With Australia batting first I thought he would go for it and he has been in great form, so would have backed him for a good 100+

Dave's not the brightest, so maybe they should've told him it's the 2nd innings and we're 200 in frontwhistling.gif

Two for 72. Noses slightly in front at this stage but wouldn't want to lose another one before lunch.

3-78 now..

Aussies in a spot of bother.

Fantastic chance for Bailey to show his ability.

Oops, looks like I spoke too soon.

A real chance for Bailey to show his worth along with Smith

and Watson.

Surely we can't rely on Haddin again?

The pressure is on these 2 now. Bailey is probably playing for his test career, as a failure

here probably won't see him get picked for the SA tour.

At least he has the lunch break so he can settle down a bit and prepare. Coming out with 5 or

10 minutes before lunch would've been dicey.

Here's my call BookMan......Bailey won't make 15.

Hopefully Smith, Haddin and the tail can get us to 250.

Haddin out cheap (under 30)

Bailey to get 70+

Smith 50+

Can Australia reach 275 ... maybe even 300?

The Sun is out, Poms are melting.

Lost a Light Bulb Changer ... Bumbles description (2 m' tall Bowler) ... plus their Leg-Spinner is ... blink.png

England will be spewing. They had Australia on the ropes at 5/97, then once again Haddin strides to the crease.

Currently 6/242, Haddin out for 75

Looks like Rankin has gone off injured.

300 should be competitive for the Aussies

Johnson just out after a handy 44 run partnership with Smith.

We're now 7/277 thanks to a handy run rate of 4 an over.

Smith just hit a 6 to go to 99.

If we can scrape our way to 320, that would ok seeing as we were put in.

Thanks mate, but for me a no-brainer.

Bailey averaged 18 in the Sheffield Shield last year.

He really only got picked on the strength of an Excellent ODI series against India.

The trouble was, the pitches they were playing on were like roads and the boundaries

were 60 odd meters.

Smith just brought up his hundred.....nice.

The run rate is terrific...over 4 an over, but the over rate from England is awful. 70 overs bowled at 5pm (10.30 scheduled start)

Could my defence be, your Honour, being that the Cricket was so riveting that I simply glanced over your esteemed and highly factual post and my eyes were less on this screen and longer watching the Poms taking a Bath ... w00t.gif

Was it a neighbouring Pom taking their weekly bath?

Was it a neighbouring Pom taking their weekly bath?

Nah ... it was a group of them, 11 in total from memory, they pop up week or two ...

Sometimes they look like they are able to dodge the soap ... but they usually end up having a bath ... biggrin.png

The slow over rate has a lot to do with the ground staff not being prepared for the 10:30 start (5+ mins late ,then a 5 min stoppage for sawdust) . poor sight screens having to be constantly moved & the dum-b arsed Aussies pishing about behind the bowlers arm as bowlers where running in causing the batsmen to walk away from the crease. It's a shame the England bowlers didn't get pishy & hurl the ball at the batsman in a tissy fit!

Oh dear; yet again, fantastic start from England, then the wheels come off.

And it's that man Haddin again; this time with Smith.

Ben Stokes' 6 for 99 being the only piece of light in the gloom for England.

Steve Smith and Brad Haddin punish England

And 3 of Stokes wicket came in the last over...almost 3 in 4 balls.

England had the Aussies on the ropes at 5 down but Haddin and Smith swatted it around and rescued us once more

I doubt the Aussie batsmen would mind, the English bowlers are not very accurate with ball in hand

They have been very accurate in finding the middle of the Willow!facepalm.gif
