I would think that is a good guess. If you do get bitten and do not know what kind of snake it is try and remember the colour and type of markings on the body.

Or bring the body if you kill it, or snap a pic with your phone and take that. It could be life-saving.

a lot of people emphasize this, but if you have no prior experience of handling/being close to snakes... i would advise to not attempt to go anywhere near it again.

it could easily bite you 2 or 3 more times in the process... increasing the venom pumped into you & decreasing your survival chances (depending on the species of course.. )
