Hi everybody :)

I will be really short, me (french) and my thai boyfriend would like to get married because we love each other of course and we want to make everything more easier for me!

So I read so many things about the visa non im O, first a lot about the farang husband with the thai wife and not so much for the opposite!

It's make me so confused about the 400 000 thb on the bank account for two month, and the 40 000 thb income every month.

We are living in thailand, I work but we don't have this amount of money at all! It's really big amount when you have a "thai life". We woul like to live in thailand and make our family here.

Do anyone have the right information about this? If we don't have this money do I still need to do visa run? so annoying and cost a lot..

Thank you :)

If your spouse earn appox. 40000 bhats per month and happy to support you then Immigration will grant you one year non O visa without much problem

When married you can apply for a non-O visa and get yearly extensions.

As the foreign wife of a Thai husband, you do not have to show any income. Only foreign husbands of a Thai wife have to do that. So you don't have to worry about the income part. You only show that you are married.

means? thai husband with a foreign wife does not have to show any income to support his wife?

ok thank you Mario2008!! I read so many post and as well one them say that they make new rule for the farang wife as well.. so so confusing!

we d'ont earn this money, my boyfriend is thai he does'nt have this kind of salary and me either

Immigration expect the husband to support the wife, but they don't check the income of a Thai husband. There is no income requirement for either of you.

Correct, a Thai husband with a foreign wife does not have to show any income for his wife to get an extension.

The rules say this:

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

That means a foreign husband married to a Thai, not a Thai married to a foreign lady.

I would like to discuss this matter in little bit more detail, I just googled the topic and it seems that thai husband with a foreign wife should produce the recipts of personal income tax at the time of application .

Do you have a link to your source? The official rule I quoted does not mention anything the Thai husband has to show.

It might have to do with applying for PR through a Thai husband.

I have tax as well because I work here can I show them ? or just my husband?

That link does not support the earlier post of a 40k requirement for income in any way - but is not an official source in any case. There is no requirement for Thai husband to have any fixed amount of income.

Great website NOT, cannot even spell the word Fractional correctly, in the main picture it is "Farcational". And a few other errors on it to, including in my opinion calling it a marriage visa, also the interview is for both farang husband/thai wife and thai husband/Farang wife.

To JOJOPINKY. why not just get your hubby to be to phone immigration, easy answer.

Also do not forget to get your Freedom to Marry from your Embassy before getting married.

All the Thai rules I have been through regarding the relation b/w a Thai and foreign national mention the word Phu Somrot, as a spouse, nullifying gender.

All the Thai rules I have been through regarding the relation b/w a Thai and foreign national mention the word Phu Somrot, as a spouse, nullifying gender.

The rule is clear and in police order 777/2551 section 2.18 and reads as follows:

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an
alien must have an average annual income of not less than
40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank
of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses
within a year.

This is further defined in police order 305/2551 where only sections 5 (parents) and 6 (Thai wife) require the financials:

5. Only for Criteria (5) and (6), the applicant must attach a funds deposit certificate issued by a
bank in Thailand and a copy of a bankbook, or attach documents proving that the parents or alien
husband earns an average monthly income of no less than Baht 40,000 throughout the year, such as
any particular individual income tax return together with payment receipt, evidence of receiving
retirement pension, evidence of receiving interest from funds deposit, or evidence of having other
funds issued by the relevant agency. An affidavit must also be submitted confirming the alien’s
marital or parental status with a Thai national.

Alright but rule does not say a thai husband does not have to show ANY income to support his foreign wife.
