Sorry I like talking about my car, just come back from a 1500km round trip to Ch am, car is amazing to drive, the suspension is set very stiff, that's how I prefer it, the main Bangkok road from Surat Thani is diabolical with holes and a rough surface not unlike a farm track, you feel every bump in the car but it's great and not as bad as I was expecting, the car is not used everyday, in fact only a couple of times a week, always look forward to taking it out!

I made the mistake of driving back through the night, never again! Those big double deck bus drivers are lunatics!!

I see that the car is for sale now.

Didn't mention the ground coilover in the advertisment.

They appear to be coil undersfacepalm.gif

No the car is not for sale and there is nothing wrong with the coilovers, at the time it looked bad because it was covered in rubber from the tire, once this was removed it showed the coilover was missing the surface paint.

Not for sale and yet you found the time to advertise it? Very strange whistling.gifclap2.gif

What is it you are finding strange? I thought about selling then changed my mind due to the amount I would be losing, is that strange ?

I always drive at night, less traffic, more professional drivers, less brain dead daily drivers and cooler to boot. Those drivers may be crazy but they're professional drivers and I'll take that over the thousands of half rate amateurs driving every day by multiples. Besides they're driving big buses, trucks and such and I drive a nimble little car that out accelerates, stops & handles them by magnitudes so if I'm on my game there's no way they're going to be a problem for me..

I will never drive at night again on the major highways these idiots have a death wish!

The big lorries are no problem mainly because they do not have the speed, the coaches are very powerful and in the wrong hands lethal, some bad accidents recently involving large coaches proves this!

Of course they're professionals, they do it daily and oft times several times per day, regardless of how you see them they are professionals... I often find it necessary to drive inches from the bumpers of people in the wrong lane or driving too slowly for traffic conditions that's what professionals do, they never drive on my bumpers because as I said I have a quicker more nimble vehicle and being professional, paying attention all the time front and rear, if I choose not to go fast enough rather then trying to enforce my impression of how they should drive, I just move over and let them on their way.. You don't have to drive at night it seems it doesn't suit you, I just posted my personal preference and reasons why, never suggested you do the same again..

I have never had a problem driving during the daytime, and of course any conflict can be avoided by moving out of the way of these buses, there is a problem with the driving here and it's mainly because there is no policing of the roads, they are only considered professional because they drive a big bus often, I doubt they are trained correctly, they are a menace and these buses should be regulated strictly and have limiters, going by the speed they go I don't think this is the case at the moment! I love driving here and make the trip to Cha am often, I have never had a problem during the day but nighttime is different!

Sorry I have just noticed your comment that you drive inches from people's bumper if they are in the wrong lane or driving to slowly, there is not one valid reason for tail gating, if that person should suddenly have a problem you will not be able to stop and avoid a possible accident, I can't understand people that do this, it is the worst driving practice on the roads, I have never done this and would never do it it is dangerous to say the least!!

Some are very professional and have fantastic driving skills and consideration. Many however are driving a large vehicle to deadlines and try things like tripple overpassing on the wrong side of the road on blind bends.

Trucks too. Many are good drivers but their trucks are overloaded, poorly lit and slow and the slightly faster of them are forced to laboriously pass the others using the oncomming lane and often at blind bends.

At least in daytime you can see your escape options a little easier.

professionals DO not tailgate, who told you this and who taught you this?

Driving professionally for many years at levels you can't even imagine, don't need to be told or taught since 40 years ago.. The problem is amateurs determining who is professional by their standards..

How about these professionals?

And riding bumpers to boot..

Sorry haven't been following this one. Are you saying they ground metal off the side of a strut spring ?

Ignore me if it is all been sorted. smile.png

That was my thought at first, what happened was the camber applied to the front wheel was too much, this caused the tire to rest up against the coilover, this resulted in a deep groove being cut into the tire side wall, the coilover lost the paint from the adjusting collars making me think the mechanic had damaged it with the angle grinder which he used to alter the bracket holding on the front wing, I have had the tire replaced, I had the coilover Inspected for my peace of mind and it is fine, just missing the paint caused by the tire rubbing against it, hope that's clear?

OK, thanks. As you probably know the strut bolts up at the top of the inner wing. If it is removed it must go back in the exact same place unless geometry is being changed. A good shop can do this. In Ubon we have a place that really knows what it is doing xhuh.png.pagespeed.ic.6VcCaNwNXg.png . Brilliant computer setup. On my ol' Pontiac I did it with lumps of wood and a bolt on level gauge laugh.png , it worked for me. No struts though, double wishbone. smile.png

You have gone to the trouble of having coil over's fitted and your going to revert to OEM suspension geometry..........what a waste of time and money.

I am only having the intentional camber reverted back to normal, what's the problem, I still have the adjustability of the coilover, it's not. Waste of money at all! But as it's not your money don't worry too much about it!!
