Yes, at your dealer. If the dealer says 'no have' tell him to ask in Bangkok, because they do have them available, and free of charge as well.

To expand on what StevenL says: If your dealership is one that sells to many farang customers, Stevenl's advice is all you will need.

Otherwise, TIT 101:

This will be something that the staff is likely to be unfamiliar with and thus, out of their operational 'comfort zone'. As with most bureaucratic situations like this in LOS, to get the action you desire, it will be up to 'you' to both know of a way to get the end result you desire and then, in a nice, pleasant, non-confrontational way, get the staffer to follow through on your solution.

In this situation, you need to first call Isuzu's 'Customer Relations' dept., 029662222. Let the representative know what you want. She will tell you to go to the car dealer that sold you your vehicle and 'request an English language manual by having the car dealer put the request in writing and 'mailing' it to Bangkok'(!) - Not by way of a simple phone call or even by submitting the request with a few key strokes on a computer - but by (snail)mail!! That is their way of doing it. OK., armed with this knowledge, go back to the car dealer, get with a nice, friendly and helpful staffer, dial the above number and have the Isuzu Customer Relations person explain the procedure of ordering the English manual to the car dealer staffer. It is supposed to take 2 weeks for delivery to the car dealer. This is way I did it. The Isuzu Customer Relations person also said there is a (THB 500 - THB 1000) fee for the Mu-7 English manual.

Thx for the very full explanation but I am slightly confused. Let me explain -

I bought the car from Expat Autos in Chiang Mai - a one farang owner 2007 D Max with FSH from Isuzu dealer in CM. I live in Songkhla.

So are you saying I need to ask the dealer in CM to sent the request for the manual or do I go into my Isuzu dealer just down the road from me? I suppose my confusion is the snail mail letter and the phone call to Customer Relations Dept in BKK? Do I need to do both? And if so who does the request in writing? My local Isuzu dealer or the CM dealer I bought from (private non-Isuzu dealer).

Thanks in advance for further explanation.

Ahhhh! Excellent question!

We are getting further and further out of the operational 'comfort zone' of the avg Thai staffer!

I was only relating my experience as a new car owner living near the car dealer I purchased my vehicle from.

In your case, you still should first call the Isuzu Customer Relations Dept in their hdqtrs in BKK and explain your situation. I would love to hear the steps they propose you take to resolve it! coffee1.gif

Don't be surprised to get a, 'We no have the 2007 model year in English.' Before you call, I would suggest you be prepared ask for a more up to date model year manual, but if they ask for the VIN # or other vehicle ID, you will be sunk. You would think anyone could order an English version manual but this being LOS, all of the Isuzu Customer Relation receptionists I spoke with made it a point to first verify the vehicle I was inquiring about!

Would you kindly post back and keep us informed of your progress? It will surely be useful to the many others who find themselves in similar situations.

Great service from EMS.

  • 4 weeks later...

My MU-7 English language manual has finally arrived at the dealership after several inquiries - the last two times I personally dialed the Customer Service Relations dept. phone number at Bkk Hdqrts and had them talk to one another! The last time was last week, 30 July.

When the dealership staffer called today, she informed me that, "The MU-7 English language manual I ordered 3 - 4 months ago has now arrived!"
