How much is usual to give in present to a Thai Bride and groom when in near family with my better half. The wedding is up country (garden party) Have not got any invitation and are not attending, but my better half is and I`m probably welcomed if I wanted to attend.

Thanks

Felt.

If you havent been invited dont worry about paying anything.

Your better half will know the local etiquette, usually 500 or 1,000 baht in the envelope that came with the invite.

An invite was delivered to your wife but your name was not also on it? Are you sure of this? That would be extremely unusual in my experience.

That said, if you don't go you aren't required to give anything. Its one of the reasons why we stopped attending the myriad of weddings we got invited to after a while, just too darn many of them.

No one of us got a written invitation but due to my wife`s near relation with the bride she is a wedding party sponsor. I'm grateful to not be seen as one (sponsor) but would like to give a personal gift to the bride and groom as a sign of respect.
