The other day I noticed that all my 'Favourites' had been wiped out ... there were collected over some 15 months. I know that they were there two days earlier.

So I made arrangements to meet with the Kenwood guy at Tri-Petch in Bangkok to discuss as to what could be done. I was told basically nothing as the file had been wiped out and in any case the file is not downloadable!

He suggested that it could be due to a voltage drop on starting ... didn't actually admit that it was common fault but as he said it could happen that way I guess that mine was not the first unit to suffer that failure.

He said that he would download the latest software and if the Kenwood unit was not faulty then the downloading would cure the problem. He said that if it happened again they would replace the unit.

I re-inputted a few favourites, this morning I started the engine with the headlights on and the favourites are still there. So just a heads up, maybe worth asking Kenwood to update your software. I had the map update done at the same time, in some areas of BK it now tells me traffic delay ahead ... not that I need telling though!
