Millitary and Police buildup in Kata

Why are there dozens of soilders and police in the tuk tuk stands near the Kata beach resort?

How about asking them!!

Unlike half of the expat community here. I dont have any influencial soldiers or policemen in my extended Thai family. None of my mia nois either

Why do you have to know someone in the military or police? Is this necessary to ask the question, "what's going on here then"

Princess is opening some museum at a school in Town tomorrow. Expect traffic congestion around Meluan Rd, Satun Rd, Yaworat Rd and Talang Rd.

They (Police) have been recognizing around town all day. Nice and quiet when they are around so should be easy to understand even for the government in Phuket that its footwork by Police we need here and not CCTV cameras to stop the crime.

But you can't take a percentage of a deal on police footwork as you can on CCTV camera's and the contracts to maintain them. Its not about security its about money.

Sure, but the hope was that at least some "up there" wanted to be regarded as serious by the International society both inside and outside of Thailand!

That's what I'd heard from the missus as well. Eldest daughter of the King is on the island.

She's expected to grab a tuk tuk from there, stop at some official place in Patong for something or other, then head to the beach to rent a jet ski afterwards. whistling.gif

(Yes, I'm joking! About the tuk tuk and jet ski anyway.)

I was amazed at how clean the streets were from Central to Patong (4020) this morning. Several cleaning crews picking up trash and sweeping sidewalks. Looked really nice.smile.png Why can’t they do that all the time?

Good job you were joking isabai cause I doubt if even the princess could afford the price of a Patong tuk,tuk and

as for jetski repairs, forget it mate. bah.gif

How so? Get in taxi. Agree on price. Pay money

Police and army you never know what expect.

Wrong again ivan.

I would never get in any taxi or tuktuk in Phuket without first agreeing on a price in

front of at least two witnesses.

The police and army in Thailand have more respect for the public than any Phuket

tuk,tuk or taxi mafia. thumbsup.gif

Amazing what can be done...when i lived Chiang Mai,...,tho mostly cleaner than Phuket the road i lived on was a main transfer road for the ''family'' and they would come

through, and not only hose and sweep the road, would also clear every roadside vendor away and there's dozens of them..and BIB all walkie-talkied up stationed every couple

of hundred meters apart..the road took on almost a 'western' road look [almost surreal in fact.] for the duration...of return trip to where ever it was.

Whats to talk about? 'Oh how many tickets did you hand out today or hows that situation at the Wat Pranier temple going?'

The definition of insecurity is where farangs have to let everyone know they have a father inlaw that is a general in the army or a brother in law that is a leftenant in the Bangkok police force. Basically hiding behind their spouses skirts

I could go on to farangs that go one step further but everyone knows my views on that

No, i think the definition of insecurities is whereby a guy needs guns, baseball bats, hockey sticks, tasers and all manner of ''protection'' aids and is also uncomfortable simply talking to police or soldiers...sad.png

Ah no sorry that is taking care of your own problems and not hiding behind somebodies skirt. I have very rarely needed help from police (a lost wallet), I wont be socialising with them either and I dont feel the need to become one, whether it be volunteer or real. Only snitches and sucks hang around them.

So the answer to my question is answered. The eldest princess is in town. Whats the script? How long is she in town for? Any chance of a glimse?
