I'm stuck, sorry if I'm repeating queries!

Hi all

i'm a new member but have visited the forum regularly. I've read so much over the last few days I've totally turned myself upside down!! So here's my story/query:

We've (myself and hubby) visited Thailand many times over the years but only as tourists on 2-4 week holidays. We're now wanting to live in Thailand for at least 12 months with minimal fuss and really don't know which visa is "best". We're both under 50 but have a guaranteed income from the UK, which we are comfortable we can live on without any need to work in Thailand and have reasonable savings too. I know an ED visa is an option for both of us, but seems quite pricey and for all I want to learn the language I'm not sure I'd want my visa to depend on me and OH going to school everyday.

Is there any other options? I really don't know enough about visa runs etc as I've never needed to do them and all the "official" info is a little vague to say the least.

Again, I'm really sorry for hashing over old ground but I can't find an answer that is accurate to our situation.

Many thanks for your time

Lynds

All you seem to qualify for are Tourist Visas.

A triple entry tourist visa would get you almost 9 months stay.

Each entry gives 60 days and can be extended at Immigration by a further 30 days.

This would mean having to do a border run every 90 days.

Exit Thailand, enter another country, turn round and come back again.

The consulate in Hull will issue triple entry Visas.

Don't apply too early as they become valid on the day of issue.

At the end of the nine months you can visit a Thai Consulate in a neighbouring country and apply for another Visa.

Many thanks Lite Beer. That's what we thought but it got so complicated with the 30 day extensions etc. We'll probably not be doing it for about 6 months so I'll have plenty of time to research what we need to do etc. Thanks again, appreciate your help.
