Hi Guy's

After 5 years of living in BKK, I am thinking of moving the family near to the beach, I had found a nice villa up on Buddha hill in the new complex.

If possible I would like to know some of the local expat views on the place:

Is it secure (the villa itself is well alarmed) but is there reports of breakins around there?

Recommendations of good places to eat and relax near by?

I have a 2yr old son whom is currently in kindergarden, so ideally I would like some ideas of good schools near by (teaching both Thai and English) and prices per term?

It had always been a dream of mine to live near the ocean so thanks in advance for any insight on the area you can give.

Cheers

I haven't heard of Avoca Gardens, but is the Buddha hill you're talking about on Pratumnak Road (same as Royal Cliff), or do you mean Buddha mountain out in NaJomtien on the way to Sattahip?

I've seen the sign somewhere on Pratumnak Hill, Can't find it on my "villages Map" But Isn't it those new single story houses on, Soi 5 I think on the left as you go down toward the beach?

There the ones Rimmer, would just like some info on the area, been up there for a few beers many a time but never really ventured around Jomtien.

Just want to know if it would be ok to settle for a while and if there is any good schools for the young one.

The houses are all new and look very nice, they also have a good security wall around them, do they have any guards at all? I would say it is a good area with good access to the sea and down town so give it a go on a short lease with an option to re new if you like it.

I could live there quite comfortably, if that's any help.

I like the Wishing Well restaurant over by Cozy Beach Hotel that's about all I know that way.

I am sure there is someone else here though that can tell you much more, sorry to be so vague.

Cheers Rimmer, thanks for your input.

I am going to sign a one year lease, guards do patrol the area and the house is well alarmed and nicley kitted out, so I think we'll give it ago.

My mine concern really is my son's education and access to near by schooling. Im sure I will sort something.

Thanks again.

I live in the area. There is a royal palace close to Avoca gardens so the quality of police patrols are much higher than in other areas. There is a load of development going on all around this area so you may be disturbed by construction noise and dust. The beach at the bottom of the road is relatively quite and pleasant.

Hope that helps
