Hello all,

I am getting ready to go on my first ever visa run to Vientiane.

I had a question about what I need to bring. The tourist visa requirements state that I need to bring proof of funds (bank statement) and a confirmed ticket out of country. Is this required for the run?

As for the ticket out of country, does it have to be within the 90 day window? I was hoping for a double entry visa, so I would hate to waste money on a ticket I would never use, considering I would just run to Laos again (it's cheaper)

Thanks for your help!

Never showed neither any time I've applied for a tourist visa in Vientiane.

You will need to fill out the application form, have two passport photos, photo copy of current departure card and permitted to stay stamp from passport,as well as photo copy of picture page of passport.

That's all from memory.

Apply in the morning day one and receive in the afternoon the following day.

Fee is 1000 baht per entry payable upon application you will get a receipt to take back to retrieve passport.

You confused extension application with getting a visa in this statement. OP would not have a departure card or permit to stay stamp for Thailand.

Thanks for the info guys. Now I am looking over the form.

Where do you put that you want a double entry? Or do you just pay 2000 baht and they do it?

Also do you have to list a guarantor? What is that? Thanks!

Normally there is a line for number of entries (often top right side) and guarantor I always put 'self' when that is asked on a visa application but believe others just leave blank.

Directly below the photos on Vientiane application.
