California Mayor Sparks Outrage wants to ‘purge’ homeless population
I've been to Lancaster several times as my college roommate lived there, working for the Corp of Engineers at Edwards AFB. That was the '90s and it looked pretty desolate out in the middle of the desert. But if you're going to be homeless... No rain and rarely freezing. I take the mayor at his word that they're being inundated with newly released convicts now making up about half of their homeless. I don't know how California does it, but in Houston, they drop the released inmates at the Houston bus station with (I think) $25 in their pocket. My sister's house is a few blocks away and there's always homeless people milling around begging for money. So yes, I wouldn't blame the guy if he was sick of it. But I don't claim to know the solution. -

Bank proof of money in the bank
It would seem the OP is asking about 2 different documents. One is a simple bank letter. The other 12 month bank statement. The bank letter just shows ownership of the account and the 12 month statement shows financial compliance. -

Passport expiring
I am travelling to Thailand, arriving 24th May leaving a week later. My passport expires on 22nd Dec so will be short by 2 days of the 6 month minimum. How stringent do you think immigration will be ? For the record, I have plenty of stamps showing in/out dates, never overstayed or done visa runs I'm thinking of renewing but I'm worried that the passport won't get back to me in time. Thanks
