TTB Bank e-Passbook
I don't really understand how the virtual bank book works. But I'll explain what CM Immigration requested for documentation regarding my SCB EZ Savings account that has no book at all. When I opened the account, SCB did give me what looks like the front page of a bank book with my account details on it. I'm on retirement extension and I used an embassy letter for my last two renewals. Due to the rising Thai ฿ and an erroneous reduction in my pension benefits, I didn't meet the 800K threshold using my pensions for my most recent renewal. I was only about 30K ฿ short so I requested that Imm. use my bank balance of 100K ฿ to make up for the shortfall. I was surprised when they agreed. I already had a 6 month statement and letter from the bank. But, CM Imm. wanted a 12-month statement and a copy of the book cover given to me at account opening. Luckily I had resisted the temptation to just throw it out since it didn't really seem that useful. So, at least CM Imm. will grant extensions using Thai bank accounts that don't provide a bank book. -

Tipping
That it's considered rude not to, does not make it mandatory. A fair percentage of people in the US do not tip. Tipping all service the same is insulting to competent staff.
