Car muffler/exhaust shop

Hi Gents,

Not a request for myself but for a guy I met who isn't on the forum.

Any places on the island that specilise in exhahst/muffler work? I don't think my friend wants anything extreem - just a muffler cut out and and a bit of welding done.

He would prefer a place that won't look at him like he has 2 heads when he says - cut here and weld here.....if you know what I mean. But again its fairly basic and its not really custom work.

Thanks in advance and I'll pass on the info to him.

Plenty of small places all over the island. You can spot them with a rack of exhaust/muffler parts out front. I use one on Chaofa West about 3 klicks from Chalong roundabout, right side.

Info passed on and appreciated. He has one more question - window tinting shops. Are they all created equally or does someone have a recomendation? From what I've seen there are no rules like back in the west. Get the tint as dark or as reflective as you like. Even the windscreen if that takes your fancy.

Be careful when going to these exhaust shops, a couple of years ago I took my then Hi-lux to have a new back box fitted, he took the catalyst off without telling me, when the work was finished I asked "why you take the catalyst off" he replied "no problem in Thailand" it was a problem for me but left not wanting to cause a big scene!!

Yep I think I know what you mean. Back home would be a big fine if you were caught doing that. I think they get put in for the environment but if they are standard equipment then best to leave them in.

No window tinting shops anyone?
