tommytouch
Hi people I'm looking for some of those classic glass jars used for making pickles, preserves, etc, with the rubber seal and metal clip that keeps the jars airtight once forced down. They can also come with a thin metal seal / lid and screw top. I think in the UK they're typically known as Kilner (the brand) jars, but I don't recall seeing them in Thailand (not that I've looked). Hope someone can help

AyG
This has been asked more than once before here, so worth a search. I like the Leifheit jars from Verasu personally, but they are a bit pricey.
Ticketmaster
I have NEVER had any luck searching ThaiVisa. It is the most search unfriendly forum I have ever used. True Value Hardware in Bangkok has the regular Ball canning jars -- the ones with the reusable rings and the disk seals you use once.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Yes, the ones in Makro are ok and tight. I use them for my home made German sausages, which are preserved in hot water. No problem at all, but a little bit pricey. (And, as expected: NO spare seals.... ) Only place, where I found spare seals, was IKEA in BKK. tommytouch
Thanks for all the helpful replies. I had a look on the HomePro website but couldn't find anything. The True Value site wasn't any better unfortunately. Guess that when I'm back in Bangkok I'll take a look around the aforementioned places to see what's on offer. Might be buying quite a few so it's probably good to shop around anyway. Thanks again
Boyce
I saw some in freindship supermarket not long ago upstairs, i think they were about 80 Baht each for the large size. Good Luck in your search. Boyce
vulcan903
Ikea in the UK have these types of jars and I have full of blackberry jam that I am bringing out next month. I guess Ikea in BKK will have them or check the Ikea web site. Kilner are very expensive as you are paying for the brand and patent.
