There were 2 internet providers in my apartment building.

They were both small companies acting on behalf of large service providers.

One small company provides TOT internet. It can be very slow, I mean really slow. But it nevers drops for any extended period. It even works in a power cut!

The other small company provided True internet. The price was the same. The speed claims were the same. But it was an acceptable speed. But if it went off, it could be off for days, sometimes even weeks.

As a result, I subscribed to both so at any one time, one would be usable.

In true Thai fashion, without any warning or explanation, the small company providing True internet came and removed all its equipment from the office and condo corridors. After a week or so and many phone calls, and much to my surprise, I got my money back for the time I had paid for but was unable to use.

So, today I visited the True shop to see if I could instal internet in my condo, I was told, "Mai mee khoo sai [at your condo]" I went to the 3BB shop where I was told, "The khoo sai was dtem - full"

I hope someone what khoo sai is. Does it mean 'line providing company' or 'installation company'? If you can't tell me I hope you enjoyed my little tale.

So now I am stuck with TOT only. Hope it doesn't slow to a crawl before I post this. smile.png

Thank you.

So, in my building or area, it appears 3BB is maxed out and True has no line. That is if one believes what the front-line staff tell you.

^You could try asking your building management if they have ever been approached by any other agents from True (other than the one you describe in your original post). If so, get the agent's number. In both buildings I've lived in here (BKK), the True shop told me I could have neither True internet nor True visions, and both times that turned out to be entirely false when dealing directly with the agent (who got both services hooked up within days). If your building doesn't have an alternative agent, try asking friends that live in nearby buildings if their building has an agent. They (the agents) are on commission and usually far better motivated than the staff in the True shop who don't appear to give a shit about anything.

Thank you, I see a mini-project developing.

I don't hold out much hope re the building office staff. My experience is it is beyond their remit.

I will keep asking around.
