How long should I expect it to take, going from BKK to Samut Prakan at around midday, by bus or car?

Allow yourself at least an hour to Hour and half....depends on traffic.

On a good night (say Sunday) i can jump in a taxi from S.P.to On-nut and then take the "lot fai far" to say Asoke and be drinking my first pint in the Mucky Duck in @ 45 minutes....and same r/t.

On a bad night/day with a big go slow ....how longs the proverbial bit of string.

Worse ever was a few months ago when I got in from D.M. and due to the festival/end of month..pay day and all that and it took me over 3 hours to get back to the house.. :o

They are now building the new outer ring road (load)over Suk and Sri Nak which should really change things in that area ..Roll on Su-wanna..airport. :D
