Remind me again why a muslim would be talking to a prostitute in a street filled entirely with bars selling alcohol.

According to the Koran, alcohol must not touch their lips. Strangely enough, most Muslims i see drinking use a straw ( technically, it never touches their lips) rolleyes.gif

There is the option of an alcohol enema. !

In muslim faith they regard non-muslim women as fair game & not worth respecting. It doesn't contradict their beliefs to sleep with them or to watch porn with non-muslims in it.

All non-muslims are viewed as beneath them in that doctrine.

That said it is very much frowned upon & the religious leaders back home would probably have issues with what they saw going on here & string ém up

So the guy that stabbed him went away to get a knife because he was smaller. Guess attempted murder charges won't be considered then based on size.

One has to really question the rule of law in Thailand in a case like this. It obviously wasn't in self-defense as the individual walked away. And it was obviously premeditated as he returned and stabbed the man in the stomach. This would most certainly be an attempted murder charge in most countries.

But one also has to ask the question of what would be the charge if it was reversed -- if the Omani returned with a knife and stabbed the Thai. Would there be the same level of disinterest? Would he be charged with something serious? I think most people who read Thai Visa regularly would agree that the Omani would be in much greater trouble legally than the Thai will be, if he is ever caught and tried.

Where does it say the Omani had been drinking?

It does say "It seemed the tourist was apologising for something when a fight broke out between the pair."

The Omani could have caused some slight against the Thai without realising it. Bumped into the Thai by accident. Maybe the Omani did something innocuous and the Thai took offence. Seems to me the Omani did what he could to avoid a confrontation and escalation by apologising for what happened. Yet that was not enough for this Thai a**hole who went away and got a knife, brought it back and stabbed the Omani.

Attempted murder should be the charge brought against the Thai and the full weight of the justice system brought down on the Thai mans head. Though we all know there is little chance of that happening.

mean, many are convinced they are a scourge on pattaya and responsible for most of the crime in town.

It's nothing to do with homophobia, racism, bigotry or any other label which liberals hang on anyone with differing opinions in order to silence crticism. Anyone with eyes can see they're definetly a scourge on Pattaya, as they are on Samui, Phuket and the Nana area. And responsible for a large amount of crime.

Which brings you to the point that, when you think about where you stand in Thailand, you are way below ladyboys in the eyes of Thais who seem to think gender confusion is charming and mothers even take their.kids to see drag queen fashion shows thus legitimizing the behaviour.

What are you on about, being trans gender is quite legitimate.

Once again - he's like all the other good Muslims that come to LOS to do the things they are not allowed at home...

Same as all the good people from other religions.

Religion seems to have nothing to do with the crime committed. Perhaps you are privy to information that indicates the aggressor asked as to the faith of the victim before stabbing him. If that is the case, then perhaps it has some relevance.

I have not met "all" the Muslims, Christians, Hindus, etc., so I am not qualified as to the reasons they come to LOS. Once again, it's live and let live and keeping my own house in order before I look outside at others.

For some strange reason it seems to me that you have never set foot in KL. There are many bars with prostitutes, one the famous being Beach Club and Thai Club. Plus a whole area called Changkat Bukit Bintang, and that is just in the city. Many many other places to find girls in KL and yes, some are muslim.

Being a muslim does not mean you cannot drink or have sex. Being a strong faithed practicing muslim means you can't do those things.

Using your way of thinking you may as well ask what a catholic is doing in places like that, you know, no sex before marriage and all that.

So stop with your stereotyping. You really have swallowed the anti muslim propaganda hook line and sinker.

And some of Muslim girls you refer to in KL, and not all hookers are some of the horniest girls you will encounter, some would make the average thai girl blush
