This is a Fortuner 4WD D4D 3.0, with 82000km. When I let the steering wheel free, my car goes to the left, when I drive forward, and to the right, when I move back. At any speed, and without braking. This problem began when Toyota changed my brake pads recently. Immediately when I've gone out of the garage (not in Pattaya). Could they put out the alignment removing the old pads ? transam Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Forgot . When the pads were changed, they must force the caliper pistons back into the caliper. My sister-in-law won't go upstairs in our house because she believes that there are ghosts up there. Jerry Cornelius Posted September 18, 2013 Share Posted September 18, 2013 I would opt for incorrect wheel alignment (as said already) or play in a steering related ball joint if there is a change in steered direction when going forwards and backwards.. Mentioning that work had been done on the brakes made me think that one caliper could be binding on the disc. However, the car would always steer in the same direction when moving forwards or backwards if this were the case. (think of steering a tank). Try another venue and check alignments again.
