Fine is 500 baht per day up to 20,000 baht - if caught overstay there could be jail time waiting to clear so always best to avoid - you can get additional 7 days with application for extension even if not approved (TM.7 form and payment of 1,900 baht - provides 7 days to leave)

I have already had a 60 day visa from laos and then got another 30 days ( 3days left).

Oh I forgot to mention a huge problem, I was leaving today for bangkok, was thinking flying out to get another 30days as I didnt know about this tm 7 form...but and its a big BUT, when I woke up FLOOD!! I'm stuck now..no cars, van, bus Isaan is massively flooded. So yeah not looking good to avoid this overstay.

If you are in Isaan you make an extension there at local immigration office - as said above if wife is Thai you can get a 60 day extension for the same TM.7 (application for extension of stay) and 1,900 baht. I suspect the flooding should clear fairly fast as should be able to flow into most rivers quickly but that storm has been going around in circle there for last day and probably not going anywhere else.

cheers...this is good news an office in Surin I never knew about FML :)....also not married in Thailand will this be an issue for extension or is it unrelated?

As long as you have a copy of your marriage certificate and wife has ID card should not be an issue - and at worst you will still get the 7 days to depart. But they will not be open again until Monday but if time ends on a closed day you can do next day without any overstay issue.

If you got married in Australia and have your marriage certificate or if you have children (yours) that are Thai their birth certificates would be enough for the 60 day extension.

Wife would need to go with you and need her house book and ID card.

Surin immigration is in Kap Chong.

only have a copy of marriage certificate, same with birth certificates as they have been sent to visa company xsad.png.pagespeed.ic.7cckm4BQla.webp ..I dont see Thailand gov accepting nothing but the originals. Just getting worse for me haha

re: fine fee of 500baht to a maxium 20k baht...is this meaning they stop at 20k and then its jail time? or they could charge 20k for one day?

It means 500 baht per day to max fine of 20,000 baht. As said give the copies a try with wife with you and suspect they may approve and in worst case you would still get 7 days.

I have been getting 1 year extensions and attaching copies to TM7 and have not been asked for original. They are even less picky for 60 day extensions.

Re the wet roads, yes. I departed Udorn at 0315, rained in and out all the way down to home, a bit east of Ransit. Only real "flooding" I saw was coming off the Korat ringroad and rejoining Rt 2, the side roads were pretty wet. Did see three tour buses in the ditches, tho, between Pimai and CQ.
