condo broadband internet: options?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a broadband connection at my condo.

Which providers would you recommend?

Can I signup with any provider, or is there only one provider per condo building?

Cheers

In my building you can choose whatever provider you want, but that would depend on your condo's policy. Some buildings offer a wifi service, but that 's not likely to be that great since you'll end up sharing.

Generally the service provider for individual service only goes to the building, but wiring in the building up to your condo is whatever is available or up to you to arrange, but even that differs from one building to another. Quite often the quality of your connection will depend heavily on the wiring option within the building rather than on the ISP.

As long as you have a dedicated telephone line, not through the switchboard, you should be fine.

Just talk to the owner of your condo as you will need his help to sign up.
