PATTAYA:--A 61 year old mobile food vendor was killed and dismembered in a high speed road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in the far northern outskirts of Pattaya early on Saturday Morning.

Police and rescue services rushed to the scene of the crash outside of a Shell Petrol Station just after 5am and were met with a scene of carnage. Rescuers approached the body of Khun Yuwadee aged 61 who had been split into three pieces after she was struck, at high speed, by a White Honda Civic Hybrid driven by Khun Supnut aged 21 who is studying Logistics at the Burapa University Pattaya Campus.

Bottles of Whisky were found inside the Honda and Police suspect the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash which also caused damage to three other parked vehicles belonging to residents of a nearby apartment block.

A total of 4 people, all passengers inside the Honda, were taken to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for treatment and were described as seriously injured.

Poor lady RIP

Drink Drivers are committing

Murder??

Manslaughter ??

Amounts to the same thing....an innocent person loses their life......

Surely it must be stopped at some stage.......

But when will someone say "enough is enough" ?

Hope they show him the photos when he sobers up, whatever punishment he get's will be nothing compared to the fact he will have to live with himself for the rest of his life.

God bless her and R.I.P.

I think it's going to take the pm or some high ranking member of her cabinet to be killed in a road accident, before this ''daily without fail carnage'' issue gets addressed, and maybe not even then.Sickening.

In the United States the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that 17,941 people died in 2006 in alcohol-related collisions, representing 40% of total traffic deaths in the US. NHTSA states 275,000 were injured in alcohol-related accidents in 2003.[1] The Bureau of Justice Statistics estimated that in 1996 local law enforcement agencies made 1,467,300 arrests nationwide for driving under the influence of alcohol, 1 out of every 10 arrests for all crimes in the U.S., compared to 1.9 million such arrests during the peak year in 1983, accounting for 1 out of every 80 licensed drivers in the U.S.[2][3]

When will these Thais learn !!!!

Posted

I know too much about Thais and their life expectancy-in-proportion-to-their-proximity-to-roads to not even give this piss poor reporting a second glance.

Alright, he did it. That's a no-brainer; but what is the run down on the lady (no pun intended) and what she was doing and her proximity to the road? Thais have some sort of idiotic fearlessness when it comes to encroaching into paths that are designed for very heavy and fast vehicles.
