TAT: Tourism industry yet to be affected by flooding

The TAT Governor could have stated that it has affected tourism and the critics would most likely have continued their hateful comments. Constructive criticism based on facts and established research, which can be verified, is an alternative.

An example would be for posters to provide data that shows reduced numbers of tourists in affected areas or hotel/tour cancelation statistics. It seems to be much easier to use ambiguous statements and suppositions.

Care to clarify that for me. Are you talking about TAT or the posters.

Your post covers both sides.wai2.gif

How will they plan to get tourists, quickly or otherwise, around Thailand when half the country is underwater?

Or will TAT have high speed boats to ferry tourists around during the flooding monsoon season?

Doesn't matter. The tourists arrive, they add to the numbers, and they spend money. They can stay marooned in their hotels the entire holiday, no matter, TAT has it's numbers.

People who have lives, jobs etc back in their home countries plan their holidays well in advance, and if they went for bargain air tickets that offer no refund or compensation for trips cancelled by the customer I would guess most people would have a "what the hell, may as well go anyway" attitude.

Especially the punters headed for Pattaya.
