Jayboy is correct. However, as I'm sure he is aware, the facts cannot be discussed here, and it is quite dangerous to discuss them anywhere openly in Thailand, which most likely explains the guarded nature of his comment.

Problem is, what happens once you start to point out the absurdity of the Thai system, the whole thing gets out of hand, and they all end up stoning one another.

The lese majeste laws are in force for one reason and that is to protect the status quo, not so much in the interest of protecting the monarchy but in protecting those who feed off the monarchy and the current system. Thailand is a country that can't quite make it into the 20st much less the 21st century. One day these laws will all backfire. People will push the envelop and things will boil over. The stories of the trials make more news than any original statements made and make people realize their lack of freedom to comment on things.

Possibly he's referring to the decision to appeal Sondhi's initial not guilty verdict. Particularly when it comes on the heels of the decision to NOT appeal a not guilty verdict (after an initial guilty verdict) for a major PTP financier, Potjaman.

It could easily lead anyone to think that these appeal/not appeal decisions are PTP government directed.
