Unexplained suspected suicide at Jomtien Apartment Complex



PATTAYA: -- Just before 7.30am on Wednesday Police and rescue services were called to an apartment complex in Jomtien to investigate reports of a suspected suicide.

The incident occurred at the NN Apartments off the Tepprasit Road and resulted in the death of Khun Jiraporn, the owner of the complex who is believed to have hung herself using a piece of rope, from a tree at the entrance to the apartment block.

What was the explanation for her hanging herself then that you seem privy to?

If a Thai hangs self, it is labeled "suspicious". If a farang is found hanging, it is suicide for sure.

Please excuse my armchair detective work. I usually don't indulge in this activity, but this one really caught my eye. Given her son's statements about her health, financial and emotional status, and the fact that she was found hanging in front of her own apartment complex, this looks like a poorly disguised hit job. I used to spend a lot of time in South Asia (India and Nepal). I have seen instances where local criminals used this method to extort protection money by killing an uncooperative target in a very obvious way to scare the <deleted> out of his/her business aquaintances. One particular instance comes to mind. One morning, just before daybreak, I was walking on my way to do volunteer work in Kathmandu, Nepal. As I passed a local shop I encountered the owner of the shop hanging from a tree in front of the building. I checked him and he had obviously been dead for quite a while, so I ran down to my work site and rousted some folks to help. I was told by one of the old timers that this was the "calling card" of the Nepali version of the Mafia.

sometime people have issues and problems without the family can suspect anything. love affair , money problem etc ... anything can happen. RIP .

+1. Guy I once worked with, fun, cheerful, life of the party, never acted depressed. hung himself. A tcomplete and total shock to everyone. Left behind a wife and young daughter. You never know.
