October 13, 201312 yr Your favorite old and new TV series I’ll start this off with my favorite old [classic] TV series in no particular order…….. ‘Cheers’...............still funny after all these years ‘Seinfeld’................Jerry at his best ‘The Riches’ …………only 1 season, then canceled…….excellent comedy/drama ‘Jericho’……………...apocalyptic mini series ‘Lonesome Dove’ ……the first one ‘Breaking Bad’………but that is history now. Best ever drama on TV!! And New [or currently running] ‘Californication’……..new season coming ‘Ray Donovan’……….1st season just finished ‘Rectify’………………just one short season and hopefully will get renewed ‘Revolution’…………..watchable ‘Homeland’……………so far/so good, just got into the first season ‘Luther’……………….excellent English crime drama, but only 2 short seasons so far 'Curb your enthusiasm'........love that Larry 'Saturday night live'.......still great after nearly 40 years, but I miss the old crew. There’s more, but these are what comes to my mind first……….what are your favorites?? Edited October 13, 201312 yr by jaideeguy

October 13, 201312 yr oh I am from the era of Bradey Bunch, Gilligans Island, F Troop, The Partridge family, The Three Stooges (still tickle me), Rawhide, Maverick, Disneyland when Annette was a star and when Fess Parker was Daniel Boone, the man and Fantasy land was touched by the magical tinkerbell (never got over how sexy a toon could be) Get Smart, Seahunt, The Bugs Bunny Show, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, The Monkees (hey hey for them)...I could name a thousand and still not cover the beautiful, funny, moral tales that gave me an optimistic and stable outlook on life.
October 13, 201312 yr Taking liberties with the definition of old and new Old Not the nine oclock news Black Adder Monty Pythons flying circus Fawlty Towers Only fools & horses Boys from the blackstuff Splitting image Young ones Shameless (UK) first couple of series then got stupid Royal Family Allo Allo Prime Suspect (UK) Father Ted New (ish) Top Gear (UK) Vikings Spartacus True blood (first couple of series) Sherlock Living dead Rome and come to think of it no real very good comedy series these days to list
October 13, 201312 yr Rome was one of the best (mainly because of all the sex, nudity and violence). Strike Back has a certain attraction (mainly because of all the sex, nudity and violence). I thought I was seeing a pattern BUT rather oddly, Spartacus and Game of Thrones didn't do it for me (despite all the sex, nudity and violence) Edited October 13, 201312 yr by FiftyTwo

That's the thing, we have too much quality stuff especially from days gone by. Jeremy Brett was excellent, my favourite SH was Basil Rathbone, but to be honest I really like Benedict Cumberbatch's character.
