Non Imm "B" visa - another 90 days

Featured Replies

I have a non imm "b" visa (multi entry) and want to extend it by another 90 days.
Can i do this at immigration, or does it have to be a border crossing?

Sorry, i realise this has probably been asked a million times, but i got tired of searching.
Thank you.

You have to leave and re-enter the country to get a new 90 day entry (it is not extending it).

If the visa is approaching its expiry date you can get another 90 days by making a border crossing whilst the visa still valid.

You have a Multi Entry.

Each entry gives a stay of 90 days.

You have to enter again to get 90 days while the Visa is still valid.

Thank you.

  • 1 month later...

Isn't the B visa for work purposes? Can't those be extended for one year?

It can only be extended if a work permit is issued. A B visa is also for business purposes.

Thanks

You also get 14 months with a B visa, right? Or at least it works out that way. Am i right? Thank you.

It's whatever you have from your first 90 day entry through to the end of the permission to stay on your last entry which must be made on or before the 'Enter Before' date on your visa.

Depends on how long you leave it before your first entry into Thailand once the visa is issued, but in theory it can be as much as 15 months.

My visa states "enter before 15th Jan" and does not have a USED stamp on it. I have permission to stay until 15th Jan. I entered on 21st Jan 2013. I can receive another 90days if i go to the border on or before the 15th Jan? Thanks.

Only if your visa is stamped multiple, which would have cost you about 5,000 baht in local currency. A single entry cannot be used again.

a notification of stay does not give you any extra days to stay in Thailand. For that you have to get an extension of stay and qualify for that under the rules. Otherwise the only option is to leave and re-enter Thailand.

I have a non b visa, multiple entry, 1 year valid. If not travelling within 90 days I report to the immigration....

You probably have an extension of stay for 1 year from immigration, with a multiple re-entry permit.

If you do have a multiple non-B visa, you would be on overstay if you stay longer than 90 days without leaving the country.

Not overstaying....and I do have a non b...

I just need to report to imm every 90 days...

If you are here on a 90 day entry based on a non Immigrant 'B' Visa issued outside of Thailand, then you must exit Thailand before your passport stamp expires, or apply for and receive an extension of permission to stay from your local Thai immigration dept.

Suspect that either your original non Immigrant 'b' is now expired and that in fact you are on an extension of permission to stay, or else you are now unwittingly here on an overstay!

Visas are for entry and initial stay, after that you need extensions of stay, or else you must exit then re-enter using a new single or a multiple entry visa.

Thanks for the photos, very helpful.

They show a 90 day reporting slip and a Multiple Re-Entry Permit which is not a visa.

You are on an extension of stay, the stamp for which will be somewhere else in your passport, this is also not a visa.

Forgot to tell you that I have a wp here...

You have an extension of stay not a visa. You had a visa that allowed you to enter that gave you a permit to stay that you have extended. Besides the re-entry permit you also have a extension of stay stamp.

if your Visa's 'Enter Before' date is the 15th then it's generally agreed that re-entry this day is possible, but better you plan to re-enter on the 14th, just in case of a problem/delay that blows your 90 days out of the water..

Per above, Every time you enter Thailand before the (end of the day) the visa becomes invalid gives you new permission to stay for 90 days.

Thank you both. I will err on the side of caution and go on the 14th. :)
