Yes six more weeks of flooding ... or maybe three .. but then again maybe 2.5 months ... he said confidently

Why are people complaining ... the great thaksin generously donated 2000 dry box lunches .. that should keep them going for 20 minutes

Meanwhile he is dry in his palace with servants cooking him nice meals in Dubuy

UPDATE:

Thailand to become completely dry by mid-November

By English News

BANGKOK, Oct 16 Flood waters on Bangkoks eastern approaches will be completely drained into the Gulf of Thailand and the flooding situation should be back to normal the middle of next month, a senior flood management official said yesterday.

Royol Chitradon, director of the Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute, said depression Nari would move towards the northeastern provinces of Mukdaharn and Amnart Charoen last night, bringing heavy rainfall and floods higher than 100 mm, or rain volume at 30 mm in Prachin Buri and Chachoengsao in the eastern region.

The Bang Pakong River on Bangkoks eastern side is too full to take more waters which have to be flushed into the Gulf of Thailand, he said.

He said the eastern part of Bangkok would not flood as in 2011 since the water levels at various canals were controllable and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration would dispatch 60 boats to push waters out of Chachoengsao province, 80 km east of Bangkok.

The Meteorological Department said typhoon Nari would weaken as low pressure area when it moved into Thailands Northeast today, causing widespread rainfall and strong wind in Mukdahan, Amnart Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani and Yasothorn.

The eastern provinces of Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat will also be hit by rain, it said. (MCOT online news)

He believed drainage operations would have to run throughout this and next month to clear all the excess water.

Surely according to the depletion of the budget allocated to relieve flooding chaos, relief channels and water control operations are complete and thus should be totally adequate to have solved this current problem?

According to the rhetoric flowing from Plod and Yingluck we had no problems to worry about and no fears of flooding againwhistling.gif

Now.

Let me see.

What was it Churchill said about waste water and flatulence?whistling.gif .

Meanwhile, the director of the National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC), Gp.Capt. Somsak Khaosuwan, said a close watch is still paid to Chachoengsao province which, as a downstream area, is absorbing water from Sa Kaeo and Prachinburi provinces. It is expected that the water level in Chachoengsao will remain stable and gradually recede. It may take 1-2 weeks for the situation in Chachoengsao to become normal due to the curvy shape of Bang Pakong River that slows down the flow of water. Additionally, some provinces in the northeastern region i.e. Ubon Ratchathani, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, and Amnat Charoen might be affected by the Nari tropical storm.

The river curves and bends in trying to reach a lower level as it passes through flat land . The prime cause of flood waters not receding quickly is because of the flat terrain that the flood waters pass through. If the flood waters got up any head of stem we would see the formation of oxbow lakes and the river entering the sea via a delta. I suggest the Group Captain goes back to his accident prone Air Force.

Its hardly rocket science captain! Thailand is dry by November each year that's the way the weather works..... its the bit from April to October you have to worry about... that's when it rains!

Don't tell us, tell Mr Plopadop or whatever his name is. He may be the government's scientific guru but maybe he missed class the day they did 'climate' at university.

It seems that the floodplain to the south of the Practinburi Ridge was not included in the 350 Billion Baht flood prevention plan, perhaps because the primary object of the flood prevention plan is to retain more water in the North of Thailand during the rainy season in order to prevent catastrophic flooding along Chao Phraya valley and prevent the flooding of the Industrial estates North of Bangkok and of course the commercial center of Bangkok itself.

If my assumption is true I would view this oversight as a serious mistake because Practingbury floodplain and south of there as far as the gulf of Thailand is the location of many Bonded Industrial estates that are important to the Thai economy.

The whole objective of those trillion kachillian Megawaterlomania projects, is too protect sinking Bangkok ONLY Bangkok and sh######load on the rest of Thailand.

bring in the pumps that Thaksin bought for us in Korea.

I always wondered what happened to those famous pumps....... Media in the western world would have had

a field day with that story. Here it just quietly faded away with no followup by the Thai media whatsoever.

In the real world, follow up is a critical part of any story ,principally to show resolution or to fix blame.

Here that does not exist, since it seems no here is really to blame for anything....

Follow up news? You must be kidding. Here it's all about the headline and the cherished Photo Op. End of story.

That is what you get when you ask China and Korea to take care of water projects. Look at the tv after a few days of rain in China and you see desperate people drowning and these people get billions to do the Thai waterworks... what a joke. There are many countries who have the same problem and are using steam pumps for hundred fifty years to get rid of the water. In Thailand they use the screw of a long tail boat. It is called mismanagement. The Chinese and Koreans must pay the biggest bribes.

A few weeks ago our 'big' man Barnhan said the flooding would be over in seven days if only the government officials involved would listen to the advise of PM Yingluck. I guess those guys didn't ?

BTW what flooding? As avid fan I've listened with admiration a few times this year when our PM firmly spoke again "no floods".

So Plod is god! he can proclaim 6 weeks, I would love to know how he connects to this Shin family? He must know where the bodies are buried!

Whats the difference what he knows 16 charges hanging over his head. Bank rolled opne failed coup attempt convicted criminal on the run for the law. 1,500 innocent civilians killed because he thought they might be dealing drugs as it turned out they weren't. Some where near 52 Muslims smothered to death for no reason. We all know where the bodies are.

And nothing will be done about any of it.

Who cares what he knows. the big question is how much is he paying?sad.png
