Accommodation in Pattaya needed 5000 Baht a month or less

Hi all.

Are there any other expats living in Pattaya that could recommend long term accommodation for around 5000 Baht per month plus expenses that is accessible by baht bus or a 50-100 baht motor cycle to Pattaya Klang (Central Pattaya Rd)? I will be attending school along there in the next month or two. Currently I am waiting on enrollment paperwork so I can finalise my visa. I would request at least the room has a bed, fridge, tv or point, (I can supply my own tv), wi-fi and of course a bathroom. A balcony also would be a huge advantage as I am a smoker. Doesn't need to be fancy just acceptable. I have been staying in Soi Khao Talo on the darkside but would prefer to be a little closer for convenience sake

Thanks

There are hundreds of small apartment buildings in the little sois off 2nd and 3rd Roads and it should be no problem finding a reasonable room for perhaps 6000B in one of those, or a not so nice room for somewhat less. I know someone who lives in one of these and he has a balcony, wifi, cable TV etc etc for 5500B (plus electricity), and his soi is very quiet. The building even has covered parking for cars.

These apartments are very central and are walking distance from everywhere most people would want to go to in Pattaya (or at most a 10B bahtbus ride), and bear in mind that if you can save just two 50B motorbike taxi fares per day this will allow you to spend 3000B more per month on your room, without actually spending more at all.

If you have a couple of hours to spare, take a walk up sois 10, 12, 14, 16 off Pattaya Klang, these will all be on your left if you`ve started at say the 2nd Road/klang/Tops junction.

One of those sois might have nothing suitable, not sure, think soi16 maybe the best bet but been a while since I`ve been in that area.

You may well find something, MS House or maybe Lux Mansion might have something available about that price.

You could then walk to your school.

Remember to find a 5000 baht place near a restaurant that serves 50 baht meals so you can really enjoy the good life of Pattaya .

There are some studio condos for rent in Jomtien fully furnished. 6500 per month + you pay for water (gov rates) , electric (gov rates), and internet. If you're interested send me a PM and I'll give you the owners contact details.

Hi I have been coming here for 12 years and now I have lived here for 1 year. My expectations are just to be able to sleep somewhere, have something to eat and party as much as I want too between days of studying. Heaps of expats live exactly the same way I do and are enjoying every minute. My ex Thai wife has now a beautiful home and a fair share of my cash but then I know I am not alone on that one regardless of what country you come from and what country the house is in. I was looking for recommendations from other expats which is truly something that fundamentally fuels this forum. A rentable room handy to Pattaya Klang. Experience has shown me there are plenty about and eating here can be damn good on little money. Some of the replies have been specific which was what I was hoping to read in the returning posts. The rest is for me to go back to rocking in Pattaya. Really why would you want to increase your costs with annual visa and insurance costs when you can keep it to yourself and enjoy Pattaya whether it be vertically or horizontally. Chok Dee

Don't worry about it.

There's no shortage of clowns in the world who think that if things aren't expensive they aren't worth having, and maybe to them they aren't. Of course they are often the same clowns who pay over the odds for something they could have got for half the price elsewhere if they weren't so blinkered.

Personally I am just as likely to eat seafood noodle soup for 50B as I am to spend 500B for lunch at the Hilton. But neither meal is actually any better than the other, they are just different. Both are good value for what they are and I enjoy them equally.
