Quick and dirty visa trip ?

Hello all. The 30 day extension on my tourist visa expires on November 8. I've not made plans for a visa trip as it looked like I would have to travel to the states for family reasons. However that is still up in the air, so looking for a quick and easy visa trip, single or double entry, it doesn't matter. Doing the bus trip to Savannakhet or Vientiane seemed like a possibility, but it seems less so from posts here that indicate Savan Vegas is out of that business. Any new info on that ? Any other reputable companies ? I already have one double entry from Vientiane so a bit skittish about going that route once more, though if I apply for a single entry I suppose there wouldn't be a problem.

Ideally a quick and dirty trip with a company that would handle the details is what I'm looking for. No three or four day stays. In and out as quickly as possible.

Your not ikely to find a day trip because normal procedure is for you to submit application on the 1st day before 11 a.m. and pick up even a single entry visa on 2nd day after 1 p.m.

So that normally means at least 1 night in a hotel.

There are companies who will do an all-included service (hotel imcluded) into Laos ... but I don't know details as i have never used one.

Do a Google or Yahoo search on the net, you'll probably find maany offering such s service.

Boose and/or night time company (if that is your choice) not included in the package.

You can get a overnight VIP bus from Bangkok to Mukdahan. Then bus from bus station to Savannakhet that will stop for Thai and Lao immigration and take you on into town. You can then get a Tuk Tuk to the consulate. There are several hotels within walking distance from the consulate. Then next afternoon pickup passport then the reverse trip back to Bangkok.

Do a search for Savannakhet on this forum and you will find lots info for trip.
