Keeping a kids pool slime free

Suggest you take a look at this Wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swimming_pool_sanitation

You basically want to control pollutants and kill infectious microorganisms and control algae/slime growth.

While you can use Chlorine --or-- Bromine, and even Ultra-violet Light to control bacteria growth, you really need a filter/circulation system and additional chemical additives to capture/convert oils and solid wastes and control algae and slim.

If it's a small kiddy pool and the kid is the only one dunking in it then dumping the water and cleaning the surfaces with dishwashing liquid before rinsing and refilling might be enough to control it. I've heard some people convert to Salt Water chlorination.

The article talks about this.
