My Mum and Dad are making a trip to Thailand and they are applying for a double entry tourist visa. They are both British and over 65 years old. They have been informed that the visa will give them 2 x 60 days days. Is this correct and will a land crossing be OK to get the 2nd 60 day stay.

The last time they visited they got a longer visa (cant remember which one) but now they can only get the double entry tourist visa from the consulate in hull which is a few miles from their home.

Thanks

A 2 entry tourist visa will allow two 60 day entries that can be extended by 30 days at immigration that can give about 6 months total stay. The 2nd entry can be done by land, sea or air to start the 2nd 60 day entry.

I've stretched it to 7 months 2 times, 30 visa exemption, then to Lao (Cambo does not do doubles any more I'm told) for the double, 60 days later 1900 baht for a 30 day extension, then to Cambo, step across and back for 60 more, then another 1900 baht for the last 30 days. I did get a double in Cambo in 2010 but as I said last time on 2012 I had to go to Lao. Tip, take the night train out of BKK for I think about $ 40 for a decent sleeper. About 14 hours I think but you can actually get 6 - 8 hours sleep.

I see nothing in the OP that would indicate that the two British travellers would like to stay 7 months in Thailand.
