Aluminium or stainless steel mesh for a faraday cage

Featured Replies

Not being familiar with Faraday cages, is that mesh fine enough to shield against hi frequency?

From a previous post by our resident physicist -

"WiFi operates at a microwave frequency of 2.45 GHz which has a wavelength of 122 mm. A Faraday mesh should be 1/4 wavelength or less for around 30mm grid spacing or smaller."

Or IOW yes.

And just out of curiosity, do they tingle when you get too close to the transmitter? Your balls, I mean.

Not until they actually touch the rubber duck antenna. But the grounding in my house isn't that great....

EMF exposure is a real problem, invisible as it may be.

How about lining the bedroom walls/ceiling with aluminum foil?
If you can make that work to block Wifi (to check wrap/ground your smartphone in alfoil and use this app), wouldn't that be the most cost-effective solution?

Also check for these:
Aircon may be drying the room air too much;
Static electrical charge can easily build up in synthetic bed linen, specially in a dry environment.

Lastly, consider using a good quality negative ion generator.

wwwdotmeshtecdotcom in Saraphi should have the material you're looking for. I'm not sure they sell their products to private people but at least worth to give them a call/visit.
