Nissan Sylphy 2013 Thailand Owner's Thread

Featured Replies

Want to hear your experiences, good and bad, owning this car. Particularly Nissan service, and what you think about the durability and resale.

Please don't direct me to the "Nissan Syphilis" thread from last year as of course nobody who actually owned the car bothered to post in it, probably due to the thread title. :)

Can only tell you about Nissan service here on Phuket, which is by far the worst of all brands on the island.

Reminds me of when cheverolet market a car called the "nova" ("it doesn't go" in Spanish) in Brazil. I guess they figured that since they mostly spoke Portuguese it would be ok.

I like riding in the Sylphy as a passenger. Seems comfortable for this class of car. Nissan reputation for service and resale value is below that of Honda and Toyota. In America this car is called the Sentra. The predicted reliability for the new Sentra is slightly below average.

Thanks guys, particularly ThaiBob for the link. I didn't realize Sylphy was basically the local version of the Sentra.

Surprised more people haven't responded about the Sylphy. Showroom did seem pretty dead. The car looks good for the price (in Thailand), but service and reliability seem to be a question mark.

Pajero means w*nker in Spanish.

Fortuna means the same in Thai.cheesy.gif

All I can say is my friend loves his Sylphy. Bought it in Chiang Mai, got a great price with perks. Nissan often has promtions. They had a car he liked, no waiting, gave him a good price on his trade-in. If resale value is that important to you then there are other alternatives.

I've foun. Nissan Service excellent , as with Toyota and Honda. Unlike Chevy, 3 Weeks for the Bits to repair rear end of Trailblazer. Its undriveable now.w00t.gif .

I've encountered idiots at every brand, I've also encountered a few superstars. When it comes to technicians it's hit and miss. When it comes to parts availability though, there can be huge differences.

I like the Sylphy very much. Nice car to drive and very little noise. I have driven between Bangkok and Phuket a few times and it's been very enjoyable.

The car was bought from a dealer in Bangkok but I can't remember the name of it. Just had it in for a first service today. Everything went smoothly and costed me 1940 baht.

So far so good.
