Popular Post JRSoul Posted November 17, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) I always leave half a million baht's worth of valuables lying around the house, but I might think twice about it if I lived that close to a border crossing. Security cameras are great, they give you lovely images of your goodies being stolen, but don't actually prevent the theft. If the owner had locked his stuff away, the thief's swag might have consisted of 2 pens, an ashtray and a set of dominoes. Edited November 17, 2013 by JRSoul 4
casindonet Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Congrats to the BIB's....guy almost naked, robs a house, identified him as a myanmar but has no evidence to prove it. JoeThePoster Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 A man in his underpants The customary mask must've slipped.
Somtamnication Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Maybe he was looking for his "hard drive". 1

Popular Post Bender Posted November 18, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2013 how they can attest for sure the thief is from Myanmar? back home this should be blatant racism! i am pretty sure it was in fact a fat australian foreigner in shorts and a white wife-beater shirt, strolling sometimes around Kfc 3
bkkgriz Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 How do they know he is a Myanmar national? Wearing the flag as underpants? That's some good police work.
Popular Post Jib Teenuc Posted November 18, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2013 What really hurts is the thief took his B50,000 amulet which stops people stealing from you. Reminds me of when we held a BBQ (in UK) around 40 Thai girls and some of their their husbands/boyfriends attended. After they had gone, my lass noticed that her most important Buddha pendant had gone also. She was inconsolable as this Buddha amulet was her very own health and wealth and happiness protector ("My Boy" she called him). She was angry and upset to have lost it and also angry and upset that the thief would now benefit from the luck it brought. I told her not to worry as her Buddha would be angry that he had been stolen from her and bring the thief nothing but bad luck. "How will Buddha know?" she retorted. I think that was when I finally gave up trying to understand the Thai psyche. 7
ginjag Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Got to be a fat farang, near the border post wanting money for visa run, and hospital fees, under -dressed but over-stay.
A1Str8 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Congrats to the BIB's....guy almost naked, robs a house, identified him as a myanmar but has no evidence to prove it. orchidlady Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I'm dissapointed that they didn't blow up the CCTV pictures so we could see the man and have the police pointing at him so we could be sure the robber was the one in the video.

It's just a hunch based on the knowledge that Thai people don't break into places if they're not properly dressed.

noitom Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Alleging that the thief is a Myanmar national is a blatant example of Thai racism. We all know that Thais are racists but this continuous illustration in the Thai press is tedious. Additionally, the headline implies the robbery was in a computer store, but the detail indicates that it was in his house. An excellent example of poor Thai editorial work as well as the tedious racists Thai allegations. Edited November 18, 2013 by Scott post corrected

Not all are fat, like me many are too short for their weight. At 3 metre tall I would be very skinny 5
monkey4u Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Maybe it was payback for overcharging for pc repairs
JoeThePoster Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I'm convinced he wasn't Australian. Bruce usually goes commando.
Phuketshrew Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Clearly it was Felix and his amazing underpants wot did it

Hi noitom, Sherlock here. 1.Alleging the perpetrator is Burmese is nationalistic since Thais and Burmese share a similar ethnicity, ie Asian. Thais are nationalistic as well as xenophobic. The fact that the town is heavily populated with Burmese is obviously of some significance? 2. "Robbery in a computer store". Thailand has millions of 'shophouses". It might be that the policeman and the victim are standing in the office of the computer shop looking out at the sales area? The detail indicating it was in his house is correct, since the shop was in his residence.Apparently the burglar entered from the second floor as captured on CCTV. All speculation of course.
gordon from yasothon Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Wonder why he was only wearing underpants??? Do you think someone would have noticed a man getting around in his jocks with an arm full booty???

Oh come on, you know as well as me that all Burmese/Myanmar people have a distinctive Horn 1 meter long, growing out of the top of the head. (not really) only a joke in case some nutter takes it the wrong way.

Announcing the thief took his loot and scampered back across the border into Myanmar means the police are effectively off the crime solving hook.
