ubonjoe
You go to a bank and get a bank draft in HK dollars for the amount required.

evadgib
Yellow bank (BOA) does them; or you could ask a 3rd party (friend/family) to allow you to enter their CC details for payment, supported by their written consent. OJAS
Yellow bank (BOA) does them; or you could ask a 3rd party (friend/family) to allow you to enter their CC details for payment, supported by their written consent. Which would presumably, in practice, be achieved through the 3rd party in question signing the HK credit card authorisation form - which does state that it is the cardholder's signature that is required. Yes, just did that. Cardholder has to sign Don't forget to let the Thai bank know that there will be a charge coming from HK. We use a card that is topped up to just over the sum required, if anyone else tries to use it all they will get is 500 or so baht.
BenCrew
To Thailand Forum Today at 12:04 PM I have just been to SCB and have been told that they only d bank drafts for payment in Thailand! He said I could try Hua Hin or Bangkok branches, but that would have to wait until weekend..What do you reckon ?
ubonjoe
Not all branches do drafts. Branches that are open weekends probably not. Would appear Visa debt cards are accepted, with no issues.
