12 Month Extension For Non B

Featured Replies

i am getting slightly confused over this :o so can anyone help

i currently have a 12 month multiple entry non imm b visa which lapses at the end of this month. I have a valid work permit and a thai compnay that i set up.

my query is how long the aplication for an extension process takes and when i should apply. should i do a visa run and then apply before the final 3 months run out or apply before the actual 12 months of the visa itself run out?

thanks

danny

You should apply when you have less than 60 days remaining on any entry into Thailand. Don't know the time frame to process.

If you are talking about a extension of stay based on business. You can apply anytime before the 90 day visa expires.

should i do a visa run and then apply before the final 3 months run out or apply before the actual 12 months of the visa itself run out?

The only reason you would do a visa run every 90 days, is your company does not meet the following criteria..

1. Employing 4 Thai employees per work permit ( unless you are an consultant or agent business, than its just 1 Thai employee)

2. You are NOT getting paying tax on the minimum salary level for your nationality.

The decision is then made, don't qualify, you do visa runs every 90 days and revalidate your work permit.

If you do qualify, apply for the extension of stay based on business and no visa runs. If you are a small business, the first three or four months you will get a "30 day under consideration" stamp from Immigration. The work permit needs to be revalidated every 30 days as well while Immigration is reviewing your case.

thanks for the info. what i meant on the visa run part was that my non imm expires on the 31st this month. should i apply for the 12mth extension before then or do a visa run to give myself another 90 days and apply for the extension within that period?

does anyone have a rough idea of what the 12mth extensoin costs are?

thanks again 4 the assistance

If you have the papers ready do it now.

My situation is VERY similar to yours.

My personal experience backs up this (dealt with Pattaya immigration):

Applied for the extension 2 days before the last 30 days stay was expired (i.e. about 14 months and 28 days from the very first entry stamp of this Non-Imm B visa of mine).

Was granted 30 days "under consideration".

After which was granted another 30 days of "under consideration".

So as someone already told; apply for the extension any time before the visa expires.

Just my experience.
