I bought some candles and on the label for each it shows: ' เทียน 20 หุน 4". '

I looked up หุน and found that it's: "unit of length, equivalent to one-eighth of an inch"

The candle's length is (barely) 4 inches, or 4"

So what is the 20 หุน ?

Assuming หุน is 1/8 inch, 20 หุน would be 2.5 inches.

1.75 inch and 4 inches

* ขนาด 1.75 นิ้ว

* ยาว 4 นิ้ว

it is used to measure thickness: sometimes, นิ้ว is actually 0.83 inches ( maybe it's their way to measure candles ), not one inch as it's generally considered.

OK. The thickness, or in this case the diameter of the candle, is in fact 1.75 inches, so that makes sense in this context

Thanks.
