Hi

I'm currently on a 2 month tourist visa which expires on Mon 9 Dec. I was planning going to CW on Fri 6th to do a 30 day extension. From what I've seen it still appears to be open. I also have the option that I might have to go to Issan, Yasothon specifically. I gather you can extend at any local immigration office, is this true? I've only extended at CW never anywhere else. Does anyone know if there's an immigration office in Yasothon? If I can't get to CW what other cheap options would i have to extend. I'm in Bangkok.

Thanks

You have to extend the Visa at the Visa Office who's jurisdiction you are staying in.

I made the mistake once of going to Chaeng Wattana, because that I thought I had to go, but I was staying at the Farm at my gf's place, just outside Bangkok @ Sarmut Prakan.

Was told very politely by the Immigration Officer that I could not do it at their office.

But she was great.

She told us by her Body Language that I should reconsider my current place of residence, complete a new form and she would get another officer to process the application.

There were great ... thumbsup.gif

Thanks.

The journey to Yasothon is an option. I didn't intend to suggest that I would travel there just to get a visa. I see your point. However, if I did have to go there I'd probably stay a few days, so as I'm on a tourist visa, wouldn't this mean that I'm residing in this area if i was staying in a local hotel?

I primarily plan to go to CW unless circumstances change.

You can do it at CW. Just be sure you put Bangkok hotel address on TM7 form.

I was even asked my room number!

My reply was that I was checking in after we left the office ... she smiled.

So, just have the story prepared, in case you are asked.
