Airport area - Power cuts 4 evenings in a row

Featured Replies

The bad weather really seems to have affected the local power supply in this area. There are power cuts every evening for about 2 hours.

The power cuts are not total. My hotel runs on 3 phase and only 2 phases go down. That leaves 33% of my rooms with full power and the rest asking why they are sitting in the dark!

This is very frustrating. I've decided to rewire my hotel electricity circuitry so that the lights and TV in all rooms (all lowish power), can be switched to whatever phase is still live. That way, if I lose 2 phases of power, I can at least switch the lights/TV to the live phase and keep customers reasonably happy - though no hot showers or air-con during the outage.

Ho-hum, off to the shop tomorrow to buy some cable and breakers....
