new Syrian Scam?

I placed an ad on craigslist Thailand offering my house for sale and received this too good to be true Syrian [Nigerian?] scam and thought I'd share it with you guys or just give a 'head's up'

I agree to give you 20% of the price of the house plus additional 20% for helping me.
But first understand my condition here in Syria.
I only have this box where the money i and my Late husband saved. and i want to move it
to your country and establish real estate and buy your house.
Just send me your full address and and name so that i will register the box in your,
by tomorrow. I have made arrangement for a Red Cross agent to travel with the Red Cross
Cargo Plane that delivers food items and other relief materials to meet you in your country
and hand over the box to you.
The box is locked with a security code that only me know the code and i will reveal it to you
once you receive the box. Please know that the Red Cross agent does not know the box
contains money.

Before I comply with your requested information on me, I would like to ask the same of you. Advise from my attorney is to get the following from you.............

1] a scanned and signed copy of your state ID and passport

2] your real personal email, as I will block any emails sent from craigslist from now on

3] and any other evidence that you are who you say you are.......newspaper stories, obituary on your departed husband etc.

If you provide this, then maybe we can do business. I do have close contacts with the United Nations in Africa that can verify discretely any info that you send me.

I hope that you understand and comply with my requests and we can get on with our business.

And these fraudsters are very active on all such sites. I put an ad to sell an old model samsung galaxy tab for 7000baht and was offered 500usd by a person who claimed not to know what was "bahts" and enquired if i could buy and ship 200 more sets to a christian missionary in Lagos which wanted to distribute it to students, as 500usd a piece was a very good price.

The scams are obvious to me, always a convoluted story, I sometimes email a few times for entertainment. They aren't very smart otherwise the stories would be more believable.

Scam written all over it. Next comes the, " the box is shipped but I need to pay.......(whatever).....can you send money to cover this and deduct from box contents". It almost the same as the "locked assets" or "death benefits" scams, sooner or later a request to pay them an amount surfaces and peoples greed pushes them on.

Usual rule," if something seems to be too good to be true, it probably is"

I would never even bother replying, juste hit DELETE !

I'm not stupid enough to believe this and exchanged a couple of emails just 'gaming' them and believe that my last would put an end to it and seems to have so far..........just wasting their time.

Are there any reliable websites that can actually give them some justice??

If Mrs Ann-Marie Jordan says she's Syrian, then she's Syrian.

If she was Nigerian she would be called something like Yekemi Okonjo-Oluwakayode.
