No banking info required usually for a tourist visa, but you might be asked to show a return flight ticket.

(Just supposing based on your avatar...)

If you're in the US looking at the instructions for the application form from the embassy or some such...

It's just the same form used for the other visas. No financial info required for a tourist visa.

Take my answer clear cut dear.. It is 12 years experience of working in Thai consulate speaking to you

Nonsense !

The vast majority of individuals applying for a tourist visa would not have to supply any financial "proof"

Though not in all countries but in most YES, embassy or consulate will demand bank statements of the applicants

For the benefit of many please tell us about all the countries where Thai embassies demand bank statements before a tourist visa can be issued .

Dear friend.. Don't know what you want out of this, still, if you really wanna dig something out of this issue then I would humbly request you to waste a bit of your time and google search the visa requirements of all the Thai embassies and consulates all over the world and you will defiantly get the answer. By the way I m too busy to get this query for you in this moment Your Excellency ...

So in simple words the easy question I asked cannot be answered !

So if I understand what you say correctly most Thai Embassies / Consulates/Hon Consulates demand Bank statements from applicants prior to issuing a tourist visa .

Nonsense !

I was issued a triple entry tourist visa in the UK this year via the Liverpool consulate. No evidence of financials or bank statements were required. Was in and out in 10 minutes, photo, completed paperwork, money and passport was all that was required.

First time using this site so bare with me please! Just trying to apply for a tourist visa triple entry just wondering if I have to go to Thailand with an open return ticket ?

What's validity of the triple from Liverpool ? 3 or 6 months ?

I am sure it is 6 months months. That is standard for the majority of embassies and consulates.

I applied for a two entry 60 day tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Washington, DC. Included with the application was the requirement that I provide a financial statement showing that I had a minimum of $500 (USD). This is the fourth time I have gotten a visa from the Thai Embassy in Washington, DC and each time I had to include a photocopy of a recent bank statement showing I had at least a $500 balance.

It is valid for 180 days (3 x 60) from date of issue, which can be extended 90 days (3 x 30), giving max 270 days in total. To get 270 days you would need to fly on the date of issue and leave and enter on the exact 60 day entries. Be careful of the Enter by Date, as you cannot use any entries after this date, it is in effect the expiry date.

With a visa, tourist or whatever, you can enter on a one way ticket. I did exactly this, I was stopped at check in but I already knew it was OK, I asked the check in lady to check her boarding requirements and I was good to go.

If however, you are using the visa exempt entry you must have an onward ticket, either a return or a ticket out of Thailand. If you do not have an onward ticket it is very likely you will not be able to board the plane.

This clearly shows that when dealing with anything to do with Thailand, the requirements can and do change or are interpreted differently.

I would advise calling whatever consulate or embassy you are going to use to ask for advise and requirements.

'Have obtained 3 tourist visas in the US, incl one from the LA Consulate and one only about 7 months ago. 'Never had to show any financials. If it's a requirement now, it's a new one.
