December 4, 201312 yr That's what I was trying to explain that in different places there are different policies but in most places they do see your financial statement ... OP is from the US... Not even sure the "most places" is accurate, but I haven't obtained them "most places". Most I've talked to haven't mentioned it. But if you say so. I'm aware that financials are required for visas other than ordinary tourist visas. I'll be making a border run next week; I'll find out if the place the service uses in Laos requires them.
December 4, 201312 yr Unless you have multiple tourist visas they do not ask for financial proof in Laos.
December 4, 201312 yr Popular Post That's what I was trying to explain that in different places there are different policies but in most places they do see your financial statement ... Not so. The MFA and I believe also most Thai consulates have the requirement of showing evidence of 20k Baht on the website, but based on what has been posted by members on this forum very few actually ask for it when a visa application is made. Your statement that "in most places they do see your financial statement" is diametrically opposite to the facts and I suggest that you desist from repeating it. Of course most consulates where you applied for your tourist visas saw your financial statement if you gave it to them without being asked for it, if that is what you are trying to say, but most everybody who did not give it were not asked for it and got the visa just the same. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
December 6, 201312 yr Just arrived last night on Thai Airways with a 60 day Tourist visa from the US. Visa was obtained by mail from the Thai Consulate in LA. No financial information was required. I simply went to their web site and followed the directions. Easy.

December 18, 201411 yr Got myself in a bind,...Could use some guidance. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/785215-confused-on-o-a29-day-permits-and-other-things/#entry8821591 I am a US citizen in Thailand, and would very much like to get a 60 day Visa. Anyone aware of regional Thai Consulates where a person as myself could travel and get a 60 day visa with little trouble. Vietnam? Georgetown? Singapore? Jakarta? Anyone know?
December 18, 201411 yr Laos will be fine, either consulate there. Bali ill also be fine, as will be almost any consulate in the region. Just check your flight options for the best choice.
