The title says it all, what is the best hospital I can go to in Ubon? I heard there is one out by Big C that is good, does anybody have a name for it? All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

I've been to three in Ubon. Sapphasit, rajevej, and Ubon Rack.

But I don't know what you mean by best.

I think if I was having a heart attack I would want to be brought to Sapphasit. I would be concerned that the emergency rooms in the other hospitals might not have doctors ( depending on the time of day) or may not have the life saving personnel.

But I could very well be incorrect in my assumption.

Just to pitch a couple of paid for experiences into the fray:

Ubon Rak - 10 months ago - 2 day visit to treat me for pneumonia. Very efficient (test results very quick, chest specialist attentive). Nursing care attentive. Food fine. Cost ThB 22,400 including oxygen, antibiotic drips and lots of expensive respiratory drugs. 9 out of 10.

Ubon Rak - 4 years ago - wife had C-section birth. Personable and caring female maternity doctor/surgeon. Huge team in operating theatre. Did not do a great job of cosmetics on my wife's stomach, quite ugly scar for several years. Aftercare was good, except that she caught an infection and had to stay 2 days longer (happens a lot in hospitals of every description). 5 days in hospital 40,000 baht - good value I thought. 7 out of 10.

No idea how the others fare with the other Ubon hospitals, but I would be happy with Ubon Rak for standard type stuff and anything else where I knew that the consultant was well qualified. It is nonetheless quite a small hospital and I would be skeptical of it for anything really major or obtuse - would go to Bangkok for that if circumstances allowed for a choice.

Ubon Rak is the best hospital we've used in Ubon. We get our children's vaccinations and check-ups done there after we moved from Bangkok and used to go to Bumrungrad, all of the vaccines they use are identical to the brands Bumrungrad use. There is no way I would have a baby or any major surgery done there if I had a choice, I would go to BKK.

The pricing isn't actually that much less than Bumrungrad but NOTHING is anywhere near the level of Bumrungrad..

Ubon Rak seems to be the best. Depends on doctor of course. Have had a wide variety of experience taking self and visitors there and its "the least bad hospital" in Ubon. I still take my family to Bumrungrad for doctors with more western experience and training. Test results are faster for more complicated things and higher standard of care.

Lol @ "the least bad hospital in Ubon". This expression could be used for so many things here, if not everything.

I don't think we are ever going to hear anybody say "I must fly to Ubon to get the best quality (insert service or experience here) ".

"Boo if you want to. You know I'm right"

Not everything.

KunMatt is not the "least bad" poster in Ubonsmile.png

It took you 4 days to come up with that total zinger. Well done sheriff SantiSuk, and thanks for allowing me to live in your humble town.
