webfact Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 PM Yingluck says her family wants peace, not powerBANGKOK, 9 December 2013 (NNT) – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has said the “Shinawatra” family only wants peace, not power. She has also ruled out the possibility of her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, returning to Thai politics.Miss Yingluck, during her interview with a group of foreign journalists, confirmed that former PM Thaksin Shinawatra would not make a political comeback, while denying rumors that the Shinawatra family was hungry for power, saying all she ever wanted was for the country to be democratic and at peace. As for the demonstrators’ plan to breach the Government House, PM Yingluck reaffirmed that the officers would do their best to protect the House in a peaceful manner, and urged the protesters not to break any law as they would definitely face the music.Since the current political conflict has already hurt this country and the Thai people more than enough, the protests should not go on any longer, added the Ms Yingluck.-- NNT 2013-12-09

Popular Post Hawkman Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 I've heard it all now. Does she really think that we are all stupid? If they want peace, not power, then why is her brother trying to come back? Why do so many of their clan have positions in power? Why did her party try to bring in the bill to whitewash crimes in power? In further news Yingluck says she doesn't like shopping and that her brother wants to stay out of politics. 20
Popular Post mca Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 With all the crap she's brought on herself due to the machinations of her brother you'd think at some point Yingluck would say " I know blood is thicker than water bit screw this for a game of soldiers. You're own your own bro. I can't take anymore". It's a bit like having a crackhead cousin who's stolen your TV for the third time. In the end you'd have to say enough and kick their ass to the curb. 8
robblok Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 So funny as if she has any credibility after the way that amnesty bill was done. Just like her brother say one thing do an other.. or maybe she really is not like that and is just following orders. 1
EyesWideOpen Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit....... Clearly she is not a very clever woman if she thinks these baldfaced lies are going to fly very far. Or she thinks Thai people are stupid..... 2
Popular Post HiSoLowSoNoSo Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 “Shinawatra” family only wants peace, not power. Wow, must be the lie of the century in Thailand. 3
Popular Post tomross46 Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 Thaksin Shinawatra, returning to Thai politics. She is correct, he will not return to politics, he never got out of politics. 17
Local Drunk Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 It's a Whoish sort of morning... Deport me if you like but I 'm sending this out to the PM 1
Jingthing Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Maybe half true. All the power AND "peace" so nobody threatens it. You can't always get what you want ... 2
Popular Post Dogmatix Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 Your brother is obsessed with money and power and no one, even his supporters, can believe this is not what he wants and schemes for every waking minute of his days. No one will ever believe he has retired from Thai politics, until he is found dead. You, yourself, Madam, have proved by your behaviour in office that you are not to be trusted or believed. If you want people to believe you, resign immediately and leave the country. 5
Chippen Dong Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 perhaps the worse thing that could happen is open conflict to the point of UN involvement. that is what you definitely don't want. as has happened else where when the UN steps in they impose an alien constitution that bears no resemblances to the aspirations/values/cultures of either combatant. effectively making conflict of this sort useless in achieving any local aims. once that alien UN imposed constitution is in place you cant ever get rid of it. you think corruption is endemic now? , just wait till the UN gets involved then you will really know what true unbridled corruption really is 1
Popular Post Rob8891 Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 She's just taking the peace out of everyone... 4
Hawkman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 So - if they don't want power and the root of the divide is him and his family. Then surely, the solution is ….. that's it, they want peace, not power, so they can walk away from it now, causing peace. No more Pro-Thaksin and anti-Thaksin arguments among Thais or on here. For once, I salute you lady YL, now action speaks louder than words. Unless you're lying of course. 2
Dogmatix Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit....... Clearly she is not a very clever woman if she thinks these baldfaced lies are going to fly very far. Or she thinks Thai people are stupid..... Perhaps she thinks they are on average stupider than her. Wealth and privilege, even if acquired effortlessly through the family, as in her case, can give people the illusion that they are also smart. If you search in Thai for "Ee Poo Ngoh", roughly translated as "Stupid Bitch Poo", you can find multiple references to Thai people's perception of her intellectual shortcomings.
Popular Post ginjag Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 Thaksin Shinawatra, returning to Thai politics. She is correct, he will not return to politics, he never got out of politics. Please note P.M. Yingluck was speaking to foreign journalists, because they don't know what the score is (or she thinks) this intelligent woman believe it or not is having a last ditch chance at brainwashing the world, as the family did with the Issan people --If the world media knows the truth she then will be a laughing stock of the world, a brave stupid attempt at this late stage to get the international community to side with her. There maybe one who will believe her--Dick Head from the BBC. another joke. 5
bigbamboo Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 How sweet! Did she mention anything about looking after little children and saving the animals too? 1
bobdown1 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 i love it all the farang have a complete understanding of this event when even the thais have no idea whats really happening. Both sides of politics deserve each other in this country which is pretty similar to any other country 2

There maybe one who will believe her--Dick Head from the BBC. another joke. News from the bunker. Jonathan Head, Dan Rivers, Nick Nostitz, New Mandala, Asia Correspondent, Prachathai, Voice TV and The Truth Today will all lap this up. Just get Suranand to remind her to include "democacy" and "the loo of raw" in every sentence. That worked for her brother. 5
DocN Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I wonder, why anyone needs to comment on this... 1
DLock Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 "She has also ruled out the possibility of her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, returning to Thai politics." "returning"? He never left. 1
Dogmatix Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 How sweet! Did she mention anything about looking after little children and saving the animals too? No. Pity though. She could make merit by helping dogs and cats that were blinded and disabled by her tear gas and compensating the owners of pets that died. 1
Katipo Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I would only be surprised if she admitted otherwise.
waza Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 The stench of desperation to cling to power is overwhelming, Yingluck is learning that her brother isn't the messiah he's just a very naughty boy. 2
jpeg Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 PM Yingluck Shinawatra says her family wants peace, not power Awwwwww
kurtgruen Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Hmmm...Maybe she can get a job as a comedian, LMAO. Next thing, she's be walking around with flowers in her hair and peace symbols on her pants?
