Somtamnication
I want to place an order with amazon USA, ship to Thailand. Total charge for goods is like $60. Shipping is $30. And a customs duty deposit of about $80. I know it is hit and miss with customs duty. Have any of you had to pay it and if so, if it was less than the amazon deposit, did they reimburse you back the balance? Any other ideas? ukrules
I have received a few customs reimbursements via Amazon many months after the items were delivered.
MichaelJackson
No way ! Pass it by, would be my response, 130% extra for customs ? ?
gerryBScot
An alternative might be to use a freight forwarder - Amazon will ship your goods to a US-based forwarder who will then forward it on to you. Amazon are happy to do this with certain provisos. If you use AMazon Prime your goods may qualify for free shipping within the US to the forwarder. Your forwarder will then freight to you and will offer a range of options. In real terms I am not sure on an order of this size if it will result in significant savings.
