If the above is true, then I'd prefer that whilst my brakes are working just fine, nobody messes with the components irrespective of promotions. Could the OP elaborate on whats on offer here?

If your pump wasn't broken when you get there they will break it for you for a small consideration. whistling.gif

"Subject says it all"? Not for me it doesn't, and it appears I'm not the only one in the dark.

Maybe they jump in and push the pedal a couple of times (for free)?

Why do you need to abbreviate "brake" to "brke" anyway, to save ONE letter? If you wanted to shorten the subject line you could have called it a Promo instead of Promotion and saved FOUR letters.

Well Well, I am so sorry for a typo.

If you have a D-max over a couple of years old and what it in for a oil change etc they will install a free new gizmo described as a vacuum brake pump (ish - kid of thing). This was told to me as I drove up, before they touched the vehicle. 3 other people also in the waiting room that I spoke to also got the same.

Just letting folks know that own one of these cars. I don't know why the "promotion" as they called it, part of me suspects that there is a issue with these and this is their version of a recall. Normally used parts are given back, in this case it was not, I watched them and they defiantly changed it, I saw the old one and they pointed out the new one, said they needed to get refunded from Isuzu.

Total cost was about 1400B, 2 lube changes and several new fan belts and this brake gismo and a couple of other annoying little things, a general inspection service. The brake thingo was billed and reversed at 3600B on the invoice.

Thanks to all the post above, totally awsome and helpful as always.

Maybe Isuzu are referring to the Vacuum pump for the power brakes?

I think you hit the nail on its head Jitar, looked very similar to that image you linked to, but not broken.

About 18 months ago I also randomly got a free gizmo to do with the Fuel delivery system, again, when drove in was told it was a promotion. There were no symptoms, but they replaced it, worth about 5000B and the housing did have a hair line crack in it. This must be Isuzu's way of a recall, they assume that all owners of 5 year old D-Max's return to the company service centers for regular services, maybe.

Anyway, just letting many people here who would have one of these know to go get a oil change at a dealership and get this.

For the others, I am sure if you tip enough, you will find a big burly mechanic with dirty greasy hands to pump ya and fill ya fantasies w00t.gif
