The father left the 6 years old child sleeping in a pickup truck? He returned 11 pm. Very irresponsible I think. There are sickos and pedos. Enough reason to never let a small kid unattended.

This is so true. I am always going on at the missus regarding the whereabouts of our daughter. In rural areas the kids wander about a lot and abductions or kidnappings are common in Thailand.

Tragic, awful and the consequent guilt of abandoning your child to a fate like this would be terrible.

In the rural areas of Thailand the children often play out and left to their own devices, because in most cases the locals are related or know each other in these areas and believe their kids are safe and in normal circumstances the children can play out in relative safety. Child abductions or kidnappings are not that common in Thailand, except maybe if taking in the statistics of human trafficking or being sold off by unscrupulous families , which is another story.

Back 50 odd years ago, I was allowed to play out in the streets of London, sometimes going home quite late after dark. But back in those days this was acceptable and at most times we were never in danger, although there were children still being kidnapped and murdered, these were rare events back in those days and as is commonly believed by these people, the worst is always going to happen to someone else and never to them.

In this case the parents would not have known or suspected that there was a monster lurking in the area, the child just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lessons now learned by the parents but only too late and their lives are ruined.

Sad and tragic for everyone concerned, where all of them are paying the price.

Behind the scenes this guy is going to be thrown in the lions den and fed to the lions, only we won`t get to hear about it. Harsh Justice will be served on this mad dog and the hang em high brigades will have their day. As I said previously, trust what I say in this case.

My post was to alert folks to be wary. 4 children in the last year from my area alone, is a "lot". A lot too many.

Stolen from the rice fields and from close to the home of a Norwegian man and his part Thai son.

That to me is a terrible burden.

You seem to be throwing water on it and you definitely talk in generalities.

What you don't know is what you never hear about. Which would be plenty.

Talking in generalities can create a false sense of security for people who should be on the alert.

The cases in our area never got any publicity. It is hard to believe.

At one road side watch, the policeman in the patrol car was actually asleep.

Good luck. Its a long way from London to the Thai countryside.

Its always OK, until it happens to you.

A capital punishment must be seved to this bastard. And let this punishment take place in an open public place so that other monsters like him can see the end of such unspeakable crime.

Stone him to death or blow his brains out on a firing squad .

I agree with most of what you say, but I am certainly not trying to dilute these matters down.

Over my years here in Thailand I have known parents who have let their kids loose on motorbikes, some under the legal age to drive a vehicle and others let straight onto the road without any prior experience and then have ended up either seriously injured or killed and that to me are also serious cases of ignorance and neglect on behalf of the parents of these children.

As regards the welfare of our kids, most parents are always living in fear for the well being of their kids, only some times we can be caught off our guard, it can happen to any of us.

In the case of this 6 year old girl, the father obviously thought that she would be safe in his pick up but events unexpectedly turned to the worst.

I don`t know the rights and wrongs of this and after all that has happened, prefer not to lay judgements on the father who is probably going through hell at the moment.

This maniac should never have been allowed to roam free in the first place. Sounds almost like the "do-gooders" of Western Society have influenced the Thai Judicial system and this is the end result.

As for the father.... well what kind of "father" would have left a 6-year old child to sleep in a vehicle, while he goes off to "party" at a concert?

He'll have to "live" with what he has done but it won't help the poor dead child or other relatives.

A sad, sad story!

I cannot hurt an animal and I am in principle against the death penalty, but if I would be asked to be the executioner to get rid of this guy, I would gladly accept.

Hope the coppers kick seven shades out of him, followed my inmates and finally this sack of sh!t is executed (preferably extremely slowly). Death to all who harm children with absolutely no acceptions.

Th article and tragic murder(s) is distressing. Your post and contents are as well.

I pray for the victims and others.

Animal. Act of an animal.

The bleeding hearts will always come out with all life is sacred, we must help this guy etc. We can permanently remove people like this from society and remain 'civilised', can't we? The world is over-populated as it is, time to clear the rot and protect the good. RIP little-un.

R.I.P. Cartoon.

And I wish that ease of mind might come to her family and all about this drama.

Nobody has the right to kill. Not even the right to kill/execute a murderer of any kind.

This is a Buddhist principle, not adhered to in the laws of Thailand.

It is for the judge to judge. Imprisonment for REAL lifetime without any privileges should keep incurables like paedofiles away from free society.

In 2008, Nui was sentenced to a jail term for taking a minor away from guardians. He was released on August 23 last year.

In other words...he kidnapped a young child....got a slap on the wrist and went on to murder and rape.

Nice one Thailand.

But this guy is poor, who paid for his bail? What connections does he have to bail him out?

As long as FACE and status is the most important image for the Thais, a lot of parents (NOT ALL of course), would neglect their parental duties for split seconds to look good, to buy unimportant irrevelant jewlry stuff or material things, and what-not, instead of watching for the well being of their children.

He's admitted the crime, so get him into court straight away, let him admit his guilt before the judge, sentence him to death.......AND CARRY OUT THE EXECUTION THE SAME DAY (Chinese style).

There is no justification for years on death row, with appeal after appeal. Only Immediate Death is good enough!

Oh my lord. What a story.

Nut job released from jail. I had an urge???? <deleted>

It's stories like this that make you wonder about the world and Thailand.

If a little piece of s**t got anywhere near my kids, he wouldn't want to meet me.

But what a system. Did he get less custodial than a lese majeste offence?

What a system.

Yeah, but he'd also be released if he was in the UK to.

Yes, they would have let him out in the UK as well.... I mean, if they don't let a few of them out, then why do we need all the rehab workers, psychiatrists, after care ****ing guardians or whatever job the socialists want to dream up in order to take a softly softly approach and keep themselves in work.

Those are the people that make me sick... it's one thing to try and rehabilitate a crack head, a thief or conman.... but we shouldn't ever take that chance with paedophiles.

The thought of that poor little girl is so upsetting for me, I can't even imagine how her family must feel.

Authorities of the world must keep these people locked up.

It would seem most disagree with you, the only thing I pray for is you never find out how it feels when 1 of these beasts gets hold of 1 of your family. I suggest a swift u turn may follow with regard to your feelings though.

Thai police often pick the people with the least status in society, e.g. ex-convicts, with no education or close relatives, and get them to confess to all sorts of crimes.

This guy may be guilty of terrible crimes or he may not but I certainly don't believe the police and their claims.

For the police this case is all about image management and nothing to do with solving crime.

I cannot really believe what you are saying.I can understand peoples frustration at times with the police and their childish way of presenting criminals and relating crimes, but this man has confessed, and the damning evidence is there.Sorry mate but to me there is only one true verdict---GUILTY---- I just despair at the ridiculously stupid sentences handed out.I will forecast now that if he gets off with a light sentence and is released HE WILL KILL ANOTHER LITTLE GIRL. He has more or less told the world that.He has uncontrollable sexual urges> God Almighty what does it take.He has to be put downbah.gif

Quote from the first article:

The skull was partly covered with dirt when it was found. Initial investigation found no direct knife-inflicted cut on it, leading to the speculation that the reptile may have dug up the body and torn away the flesh.

What was it, a crocodile?

I was wondering if it was another victim from a previous murder, but the article seems to imply that this girl's short pants were found with the skeleton.

Sick, sick person..

Maybe a monitor lizard?

Has the suspect been beaten down at the police station by relatives yet?

Sad story.

Strange comment but how did it become a fleshless skull in such a short time?

RIP the young girl.

Not so the accused, if guilty

Thankfully they have gotten this one off the streets. Hope he never sees the sun or blue sky again.

RIP to little Cartoon.

I for one am very glad Thailand is littered with surveillance cameras and willingly accept this invasion of my privacy. Without this capability to go back and review footage when necessary, scum like this would continue doing what they do.

"very glad Thailand is littered with surveillance cameras"

correction

"littered with surveillance camera housings"

I haven´t read all the posts, I find it too distressing, however, I do agree with you on this.

If there was only one wrong conviction, it would be too many and with a death sentence there is no going back.

Of course everyone is angry and wants to see justice done, surely not revenge?

That would lower us to that same level as the perpetrator.

This needs a safe conviction and a life sentence.

The mistake with knee jerk reactions that may wrongly convict is that the real monster is still out here - with us!

How to make an example and give punishment that would deter others?

Perhaps there should be follow up stories in the press regarding the fate of such prisoners - to serve as a deterrent?

Maybe a picture of them in chains breaking rocks?

You Tube has the series Big Trouble in Thailand, maybe something similar to that?

Thats the sad part, so often the person is a relative or known to the family. F**kin unfathomable to me, it really is sick.gif.pagespeed.ce.tVTSNn-2vr.png

I Wish I wouldn't have to read about another Nong Cartoon.

This scumbag dad would face child neglect charge in most countries, very sad for his family and child but his conduct was reprehensible.

I hope the murderer is strung up by the balls and left to rot.

Made me speechless.Hope there's a heaven for little kids....-rolleyes.gif

I believe there is a heaven for children. I also believe there is a place for those that harm children, adults and helpless animals. A special place is also reserved for those that hate and for bigots, liars, cheats, scammers, etc.

This has haunted me all day. I am so saddened by this story.

To see this picture of this lovely little happy girl, after knowing what happened, is just horrible.

How does a family recover from this?

There are two threads here on this atrocious murder. All mention the father, but I believe the mother was also at the concert.

It now emerges that this is a serial rapist, murderer.

I will not join the castrate him mob, but never should this monster be allowed to repeat what he has clearly done for years.

I have a young child and he is free to play nearby with friends and I and all the neighbours are on watch.

I would never leave him alone late at night in a strange place with drunks around.

There was a similar case, still unresolved, of a young girl,

Madeleine McCann, left alone in a hotel room, by very educated middle class parents. So be careful of blaming too much.

Thai are very protective of young children, but monsters exist everywhere.

So the police is only aware of 2 unsolved child murder cases? Well those are considered solved even when the chap confesses to another 500 murder cases or to none. Look at the men in brown on the picture. Can nobody rip a beer box in two and hang the carton around their neck with the text "Incompetent and Lazy".

The stories of disappeared children are as numerous as the stories about the police not willing to investigate for days or weeks. They have registers of every fart that has ever been let go in Thailand but they have no clue about missing children, child rapes of murders.

'

One only realise how incredibly incompetent these people are when you hear stories about murderers who are released after 5 or 10 years from jail and will have to stay a few days more in a police station so the gentlemen can figure out if they are wanted in another city or province.

Agreed, finding a stolen car or motorcycle is more important that pays!
