If you want to remarry you need to get an affirmation to marry from the British Embassy, and then have it aprooved by the Ministry of Foreign Affars in Bangkok, but you should know this already if youve been married before. To do this you have to prove you are single and without the divorce paper you cannot. So you need to go the Amphur where you were divorced and get the divorce paper then proceed with the above.

Can I just clarify this for my own situation, please.

I have been married in Thailand so got the Affirmation/translation prior to my first marriage in Thailand. I have been single here for the last 2 years and may consider getting remarried. I have divorce papers issued at an Ampur in my possession .

Do I still need to get a second Affirmation to marry (again) and get it translated.

Thanks in advance of your advice.

Per above, you need the affirmation again. Copy your name in Thai etc from the papers of your first marriage for the translation to be sure the are the same..

Ok I also divorced my wife in May ,we went to a different amphiur from the one we married in ,for the divorce they took our marriage certificates and a copy of my passport and gave us two pieces of paper back for the divorce one for me and one for the ex wife, of coarse they have to take your marriage certificate of you ,and of coarse you need the divorce paper back from them.

For the record I am also back with the wife now and will remarry in the future good luck hope it all goes well.
